Some become EMTs; others go to school and become Paramedics, Physician's Assistants, Nurses, and Doctors.
Others say, I've had enough of this and find something else to do...but often find themselves coming back to emergency services anyway.

They get a job , just like everyone else.
Or go to school to learn a skill.
Very few people in the military, leave the military and get a job in the field they were in while in the military.
But if you asking what job a medic would be qualifed for in the civilian world.
The it would be as an EMT.( emergency medicial technician)
The average salary for a civilian EMT is $11.00 an hour.

Im a critical care tech in a hospital. The people in the EC are always askin me to come down there but i like my schedule so dont wanna change. But if u get out without any certs u can do a few things depending on your skills and jobs while u were in. Most of the guys i know that got out or retired while i was in got out of the medical field all together. Im going to go back to school for my MBA in hospital administration.
Good Luck

Depending on what you did in the military, besides doctors & nurses, I could see an easy translation into civilian medicine as an EMT or dental assistant/hygenist, even radiologist if you know how to work the Xray machine.

I'm going to Nursing school, but I couldn't tell you what the rest will/are doing. Hell...my husband doesn't even know what he'll do when he's out of the Army.
