Wow, a patriot. And that's a good thing. but don't get mad at the fools, simply remind them that in most other countries that their statement would put them in prison or worse.
They won't believe you but we know the truth.
After serving 22 years on active duty I should get mad, But I remember that I did my time to give them the right to be wrong and talk trash about our great country. So simply remind them that it is a free country and if they have a problem with it they are free to leave, anytime ...

You know... living in this country, people are generally too absorbed to really see what's happening in the world. I love living in America, and I'm grateful, considering some of the other places there are to live (there are plenty of other great places too live as well, mind you.) That said, anyone who just shuts the **** up and watches the world around them, would be an idiot if they didn't realize the terrible things the United States as done as well. When you're the biggest, most powerful country in the world, it's inevitable that you'll do some bad things too. I'm not gonna go into detail, but I'll just say that nothing is perfect... and just because you dislike, or even hate the bad things America has done, doesn't mean you hate the country or what it has stood for.

You can love America and hate what we are doing. It is the right of every American, no the duty, to question our government. If we don't, we will soon fall under the sway of a dictator.
Real Americans protest and fight for what they believe in. Those that blindly trust their politicians and never question them are ready to fall under the heel of fascism.
Both sides, Republican and Democrat, should stand up and be heard. That's what is great about our country, is that we have a right to argue.
By the way...the reason our brave soldiers are fighting today is so that we have these rights. The right to free speech isn't for those that agree with you, its for those whose very words make you sick.
The US has done some horrible things in the past, we could do it again. Look at the treatment of the indians, the slaves, and the Japanese-Americans during WWII. We are not above making mistakes, we just have to be sure that those that do are called to task for it so it hopefully never happens again.
EDIT - I'm sorry but I would say that anyone that says "You don't like it here, move" are the ones that hate the freedoms that make this country great. If you can't stand the freedom of speech, then don't listen.
Do you remember complaining about the country and the government when Clinton was in power....why didn't you leave?

I take most comments about the US with a grain of salt.
I'm very grateful to have been born in this country and to have certain rights which I wouldn't have, if I had been born in a different country. But history has shown that we haven't always done what is best for our own people, never mind doing what's best in regards to foreign policy. Some Americans are blinded to this truth by their nationalism- they personally feel that the US can do no wrong.
I think that using an argument of calling someone names proves more that you don't have much of a rebuttal to bring to the table, rather than proving your patriotism or much more, your point.

I understand your passion but from a different angle. It is unfortunate-that we live in a nation that has the power to create meaning---and yet we've thrown it all away by electing bush twice (I didn't capitalize his name for a reason). I live in the US---but have been fortunate to travel extensively. It is true---other countries laugh at our government and the lack of responsible leadership. I cannot say that I am proud to live in America because "America" no longer stands for the things it used to! Just for the record I am an educated individual.

You have the best answerer, and I agree with you that if you don't like it here then leave.
What gives these people the right to judge this country, they say Busch did this and Busch did that, well did they vote? have they shed blood for this country? Have they even got a clue? My only complaint is the insurgence of illegal clogging our hospitals, and stealing our jobs.
Do these idiots even realize that in most other countries, for talking this way about there country, they at the least would face imprisonment. As a fellow American, I thank you for standing up for our Country.

i know what you mean, my husband is in the Air Force and travels all over the world, Europe, South America, Russia, the middle east, he was just in bulgaria and met a guy who makes $700.00 a month for his job: refueling planes, my husband told him how much more he would make in America for the same job, the guy thought it was amazing and would love to live here unlike the ungrateful jerks that you are talking about, he meets so many people that can't believe how much money we make and what we can buy here, Americans really don't know how spoiled and lucky we are to live here, i love this country and will teach my kids (when i have them) to do the same

You dont have to use inappropriate language in dealing with those types of people. Just point out that if the really had the conviction of their beliefs that they would pack their little bags and move to the nearest socialist haven they could find. otherwise, they are just a lot of do nothing hot air like most of the armchair liberals that whine about how unjust our government is.

I couldn't agree with you more. They have the right to slam our country and soldiers and say what they want to, yet you can't voice your opinion on the issue. I'm so tired of the media that encourages that behavior either! I couldn't be happier to be living in this country!!!

My response to all those who bad mouthed America is this; IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS COUNTRY THAN GO LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! This great country of ours allows us to enjoy freedom, but freedom comes at a price. Allows us to enjoy liberty, but liberty comes at a price. Allows us justice for all, but this too comes at a price. All those who bad mouth America are those whose patriotic bank accounts are at zero balance. I say I love my country, a country which by the way, lets people be vocal about there displeasure in it. I also say their is no price to high to pay for what our country gives back and we enjoy as American citizens.
One quill pen $3.95
Parchment paper for declaration of Independence $4.50
Freedom PRICELESS
