My daughter, my husband, and I are assigned to three different military facilities in our city. I hate this, because for one, I never see my PCM. Everytime I am sick ( I get sick alot) I get assigned to whatever random doctor is open for that day. I have yet to ever see the same doctor twice, I never have a chart, and they don't really seem to care. I went last week because I've been coughing and my chest is burning, and of course I saw someone that was not my PCM. I'm still sick, tried to make an appt. today with the same doctor, but she has no appointments, and none open for the rest of the week. I hate military insurance and facilities. Anyone else have problems like this??

It's normal. The military healthcare system is not like civilian healthcare. You rarely see the same doctor twice. Doctor's deploy just like everyone else so the same one isn't always available. I haven't seen my PCM in 4 years. The only time I saw the same Doctor over again was when I had surgery. It's normal..get used it. It's free..what more do you want? I have never had a problem with the level of care I have received. Every Dr. or PA I have EVER seen has been professional and knowledgeable. I LOVE military doctors (and remember they aren't all military some are civilians) and I LOVE the level of care I receive at Air Force facilities.

That's the way it is. I haven't seen a DOCTOR except for surgery at our military hospital. It's always a PA. I know it's frustrating sometimes, but be thankful that you don't have an outrageous medical bill. You can always go off post if you're not happy. I've done that when there were no appointments available for a month. Just make sure that they take tri-care.

definitely no longer - you have each and every precise to digital mail your healthcare provider - subsequently they provide out the digital mail addresses. different than being in touch for accountability applications, as a known rule, your chain of command has no longer something to do jointly with your ordinary healthcare subjects or technique. All you're able to could desire to do on a ill call slip is state which you have an appointment with the healthcare expert - you're no longer required to place down what that's for.

You need to get some more information about tricare and deers. Maybe it is not what is used in your area even tho. There might be a few options open for you. I remember when i was married in the CG i had a few options open to me some of them i had to pay a little money for but my wife had a HUGE selection of civilian doctors she could choose from to have as a primary care. But i have no idea what branch you are in or what part of the country you are in and those are factors to who does the healthcare.

22 years on active duty and i never had any problems like what you describe. What city are you in that there are 3 different military health centers? I would suggest speaking with the commander of one of these facilities or even the commander over the three of them, this doesn't sound like the health care anyone in the military should be receiving.

lol welcome to the military...when i was pregnant with my son i was rotated through 6 different doctors for my OB appts.....lo and behold when he was born a woman i had never seen before showed up to deliver him. my kids have a civilian PCM who refered my daughter to a developmental specialist (she has aspergers) tricare took the referral and assigned it to our base pediatrics clinic......however they only have the doctor she needs to see here 1 day a month and he has 58 patients on this base (so you can imagine what its like to get an appointment 4-5 month wait usually) and tricare tells me they cant help me because the base clinic accepted the care......the only options they gave me was use a POS option....or switch to standard and pay the copays. I get tired of hearing how great our insurance and medical benefits are......because when i had insurance through my employer we never had this problem ( i still had to pay copays but no cost shares like you do with tricare standard)...my favorite is when they give you to a civilian PCM but then send you to a military specialist....so when your PCM tries to get your records (which they need so they can get a better concept of everything going on with you) they tell them they are classified because they are military. i took my son to the ER on base with a severe ear infection (his ear drum almost ruptured)....and they told me to follow up with my PCM but then refused to show her the records from the night he was there.

Welcome to military life! You get most everything in your life paid for, so just be patient and be thankful.

I have never seen my official doctor that I'm assigned to, in the two years I've been at this base. She is booked for months on end.
