Please let this be only for those who will respectfully honor either an active, guard or reserve member of the US Military or a veteran. It doesn't have to be a war story but it certainly can be.

I and most of America honor all living veterans....past, present and future.....they are America's true unsung heroes
The ones most often forgotten are the ones who stumbled or fell in the service of their country.... Some of us remember....General Pace before he left Washington DC ....went to the Vietnam Memorial.....at the base of the wall he placed two 3x5 cards... on each card he had pinned his three stars and wrote a simple note to two of his fallen comrades....."These belong to you"
I can not close my eyes without seeing my fallen troops...
What is even more horrible is the vision of those that stumbled. Those I had to send back to their loved ones crippled and maimed......Yes....I want to honor some special veterans.....I want to honor those that are reminded of their sacrifice every time they look in the mirror.....every time they take a step.....every time a stranger looks at them and turns away in horror.......they pay a price everyday.....we can honor them on at least one day

The Americans residing in Israel DO remember the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice so that Americans can have the freedoms we cherish. Israel also has a day that serves as a memorial for Israeli soldiers killed in the five wars started by Arabs.

I would like to honor first My husband, who was severely injured in Iraq in 2005, slowly recovering and putting his life back together.
Second, I would like to honor the families of the fallen and remember them as they celebrate the day remembering their loved one and their sacrifice.
Third, I would like to honor the injured and the wounded. Their lives changed forever and their recovery long and hard. Their family members as they help them pick up the pieces and put their lives back together.
Finally, I would like to take the time to say Thank You to all those that have serve, regardless of the era, or war. Your service and sacrifice has truly given me the freedom, I so richly enjoy. From the earliest era to the wars of today, You have paved the way to freedom by your service and your sacrifice, You have given so unselfishly of yourself, that you deserve all the love and appreciation you get and more.

God Bless each of our Servicemen and Women. May he keep you safe and always show you the way. May he walk beside you and hold you in the palm of his hand and give you peace and understanding. I love each of you and will never forget you!!!!!

I, of course, wish to honor all veterans who served America. However, I would like to honor my son who returned this week from his 3rd tour in Iraq. And, I would like to especially honor the men and women who served with me during my career. They were and are the best. They are simply stated, heroes.

My father WWII was in on the invasions of North Africa, Sicily (were the boat he was on was blown and the sole survivor), Operation Tiger, and Normandy.

There are many heroes that their stories are being lost daily.

So I suggest everyone find a vet who is willing to talk about their war experience and get it down before they are lost forever.
