There is no punishment for leaving the DEP program. You aren't technically in the USAF, yet. Don't listen to what BS they tell you, if you leave your DEP program and decide that you want to give it another shot later down the road, there won't be any record of you in the system until you actually ship off to basic.

You can ask to be released from DEP, by asking in writing to the MEPS commander.
If you withdraw from DEP, you will need a waiver from the MEPS commander, to try and enlist in that branch of the military again.
IE: In your case, if you withdraw from DEP, you would need a waiver to try and enlist in the USAF again in the future.
But you could enlist in one of the other services, without a waiver.
Waviers for DEP withdrawal, are not easy to get, unless you really had a good reason to withdraw.
You don't get discharged from DEP, since your not in the military yet.
You ask, is there anything you could do ??
Could do about what ?
You can either leave for basic when your supposed to, or write a letter asking to leave AF DEP.

If you drop out of the DEP you will be serving a life sentence. Just kidding. But on a serious note. You will not be punished in any way shape or form. However, it will affect you enlisting later. If you just want a different job it is possible to get a re-negotiation, or if you don't want to be in the service and have changed your mind, just leave. Don't make any rash decisions and if you do don't come back. If you want a Re-No. I'm sure they would rather re-negotiate a contract than not have one on a contract. Good Luck.

Well all I can say is that once you've signed that paperwork, even if you are in Delayed Enlistment Program, They OWN you. At least that's the way it was years ago.
Now days who knows for sure, but it will affect your life in some way, they (the military) doesn't like those who fail to fulfill their obligations.
Seek legal advice about getting out, but you won't be able to sue anybody because a recruiter lies.

You can back out up till you leave for boot camp, it's hard cause they will try every trick in the book to keep you in. Your recruiter didn't tell you the whole truth because if you don't ship he/she doesn't get credit for you. Now if you decide to enlist/join the Air Force latter on it will be harder since you backed out once before.

First you have to have the evidence to back up your claims!!And verbal evidence will not be enough to cut it!
