I'm interested in being a Marine Scout Sniper
I have ADHD, one kidney and am near sighted (not too badly though)

Do I have a chance of getting in?

I was always told at boot camp that the only language allowed in uniform was English, but since I've been in the fleet I've yet to read an order or regulation in regards to this. Can anyone help?

Seriously - Those are very high quality photos, thought that was cold war super-spy territory only! Mind you, the public access is nice....I can see my house from here :)

Those who had to move around and such. Was there a typical job they had that would allow them to masquerade as some kind of military role?

Ok, I kinda feel like this might be a dumb ? and I am going to ask my recruiter on monday but i was just wondering if anybody knew if there is some type of exception so that u wont be sent to Iraq because youve already lost a family memeber over there. my bro was killed in iraq last yr he was in the army im thinking about joining the air force. It may sound dumb after that loss but its just in my blood--Great Grandpa-army, grandpa-army, mom-army, oldest brother-marines, older brother- army. I am the youngest and i feel as though its my turn to serve our country. My question is will they still deploy me to iraq knowing my brother was killed there?????
NO STUPID ANSWERS PLEASE!

I am thinking of joining and wanted to know how long and how many times I should plan on being deployed. I am going to try for DC for the U.S. Navy. I am not worried I just want to know what to expect so I can plan for my future. I am going to try to pursue being a fire fighter, any info on that......

Before you call me heartless realize my stocks have only gone up 40%, whereas Dick Cheney's Haliburton stocks have gone up an astounding 540%! Anyways, keep up the great work guys, keep getting shot at and possibly having your legs blown off or worse, it is great for my portfolio!

Hi, thank you for taking the time to read my question. I was wondering if it's possible for you to join the USMC if you're an immigrant from another country and you're not a US Citizen? If not, what are some options you can do to be able to get accepted be one of the few and the proud? Thank you for your time. Your answers are appreaciated. And also, if you're not a citizen from the US.

I have been waiting since i was 15 years old to get my memorial tattoo of my brother who passes away when i was 14, and now that i am 18, i can legally get a tattoo. But there is one problem with this, i am waiting to ship off to navy boot camp on 8 sep 08, and the navy has a rule saying that people in the DEP cannot get tattoos while they are in or they will be kicked out.

Can someone explain this rule, and the reasoning behind it, if they are a recruiter or if they are in the navy DEP/have been in?
Do you think i could talk to the NC or Chief or someone to see if i can get this memorial tattoo?
Is there any possible way to get one while in DEP?

Thanks so much!

I really find it funny how they are scared to be sent to Iraq, when all of our soldiers have to go through this all the time. They set in their office making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, and are all crying like babies because some of them have to go to Iraq and sit in comfortable office buildings.

Right now I'm in the DEP for the air force. I have a guaranteed job for biomedical equipment technician. From what I heard, it's a great job to have and pays well in the civilian world. I'm thinking of majoring in either electrical engineering or computer science and this job deals electronics so I may gain some knowledge related to what I want to major in. My dilemma is whether or not to enlist first, gain experience, try to earn my associates while in the Air Force on active duty, then either apply for AECP or ASCP and continue school. My other option is get my associates from community college then transfer to a four year university with an ROTC program and join the Air Force as a commissioned officer. Plus I'm not sure exactly how it works to earn an associates in the Air Force (take classes from CCAF or online classes?) and transfer to a four year university. Any opinions or personal experiences would be appreciated. Thanks for taking time to read my drawn out dilemma :)

Are there any cell phones (even prepaid) that will work in Iraq?

Also, when I'm trying to call a cell phone that is from Iraq...is there anything special that I need to do? The number is so much longer than a regular number and it will never go through.

But, my main question is what service works over there?
My husband is a Marine.
Thank you!

There is a two year active duty service option. I hear the benefits are bad. but i like how the service option is short term, that way unlike the 5 year security gaurd enlistment that I told my recruiter to sign me up for I still get to do military active duty without over doing it.

Any advice?

Is the two year active duty worth it?

I recently saw in a local newspaper that we would do much better without an Air Force. What do you think of this suggestion?

National Public Radio has endless speakers who talk about WHY we should not be in Iraq, WHY we cannot win the war in Iraq, etc. Given this, exactly WHERE should we be fighting? I hear mention places like IRAN, but speakers say no, just a number of air attacks will solve that problem. I hear mention places like North Korea, but speakers say no, a collapsed North Korea government would be WORSE than any war, and I hear Afganistan is becoming a problem again. I thought we were already there? What happen. I am totally confused, except about Iraq. Big mistake, time to get out...

I want to join the National Guard. I have no problem defending our country if someone invades us here or helping in a crisis. However, I don't want to go to Iraq to fight a war I don't believe in. What are the odds of the National Guard being deployed in Iraq? I know it is less than the Army Reserve but is it fairly high? It's not that I'm afraid to go, I just want to fight for something I believe in, not something like this that I don't like.
