My son is joining the Marines soon. He's already getting crap from some of his young peers and I need to be able to nicely explain how proud I am and how important what he's doing for his country. Any suggestions?

Please, only respond if you have something positive to contribute. Please.

Here's some things I can think of:

Cut off funding for the war

Demand a withdrawl (i.e. surrender) date

Give enemy combatants prisoner of war status

Repeal the Patriot Act, preventing us from getting information

Close prisons for terrorists

Grant terrorists constitutional protection

Call President Bush a liar, incompetent

Call General Petraeus a liar

Can you think of any others?

Is it true you have the option reguardless of what branch or active to guard that you have the option to get out if your pregnant? I was thinking of joining BUT I wanted to know the Air Force and Army rules for Guard on pregnancy. Not just getting leave or light duty but actually getting discharged. It is very important to me and some people I have talked to don't know.....

Now, I could be wrong. So please, correct me.

However, it seems to me that they're often the hidden military branch in America.

Sure, they're not over in Iraq on the front lines.

But, they still deserve a lot of credit for putting their lives on the line and being the 1st line of defense for America.

Thank you to all of the USA coast guard men and women who have served/are serving.
