Now, I could be wrong. So please, correct me.

However, it seems to me that they're often the hidden military branch in America.

Sure, they're not over in Iraq on the front lines.

But, they still deserve a lot of credit for putting their lives on the line and being the 1st line of defense for America.

Thank you to all of the USA coast guard men and women who have served/are serving.

NONE of the branches of the military gets all the credit it truly deserves.

But yes, the Coast Guard does an important job, and they are often overlooked.

Thanks to all veterans!

Wow what a surprise someone else thinks the same way I do. In 1965 I married a man in the United States Coast Guard. We spent the next 25 years moving from place to place and I used to think that the CG was the most underrated service. People have no idea what the Coast Guard does and often get them mixed up with the Life Guards at the beaches. My husband was on a small patrol boat during Viet Nam going up and down the Rivers there patrolling for the enemy.
Later he served as an officer.
Unfortunately I lost him at a very young age (58), but I wouldn't trade any of the time we spent during his service for anything.
I agree Thanks to all of those who serve in the Armed Forces, but a special thanks to those in the Coast Guard who are so often forgotten (even by the media).
