no... except you can say... i joined back in the day.. before they combined the mos...
ive seen it happen a lot...
I deployed to iraq as the NCOIC of a totally different MOS.
when i went to airborne school, the guy who pushed the button in the tower to release the guys was a carpenter.... needs of the army my friend, needs of the army.
the army sees it as why pay two groups of people to do 2 jobs when we can pay one?
What is your mos? i imagine youll still be doing it. when the army combines things like this, the units realize they have people who are doing jobs they dont know. you will all work in the same shop, but probably youll be handling things more oriented to the job you learned. Though, at the same time youll be learning a new one. its a good thing, it looks good on paper also..

U may not have signed up for the other MOS,that is a continuation of the one u have been doing for several years but u should know better there is nothing u can do about it but attend the other one n what is ur problem u do not have to pay for it n if it helps u in civilian life if u decide to leave than what is ur problem n I know I served in the Army & Navy n took every school that was offered to me why not if it helps me in civilian life and I am not paying for it n it benefits the military n myself later on in life so what is ur hang up with it plus the fact that u can't so anything about it n-u won't find it in the fine print of ur contract either so go n get it over with.

nope. all you were guaranteed in your contract was the original MOS training. they have the right to make you train for something else. Your only recourse is to get out at the end of your enlistment if you don't want the new MOS.

Short answer, not a damn thing you can do. You signed and swore, just do the job, go home safe at the end of the day.

If nothing else it may give you more promotion points. You can talk to your commander and they may let you keep doing what your doing and get the extra training too.

What is going on in todays military. IT IS NOT A DEMOCRATIC SYSTEM. You sign up and you follow orders as I did in southeast asia. I hope there is nothing you can do but follow your orders.
