Hi, thank you for taking the time to read my question. I was wondering if it's possible for you to join the USMC if you're an immigrant from another country and you're not a US Citizen? If not, what are some options you can do to be able to get accepted be one of the few and the proud? Thank you for your time. Your answers are appreaciated. And also, if you're not a citizen from the US.

Not sure about the Marines but a lot of non-citizens serve in the military honorably....

Had a non-citizen serve with me in the elite 101st Abn Div .....

There is even talk of giving non-citizens with honorable military service a leg-up on obtaining citizenship

my educated guess is the Marines accept non-citizens....but a quick call to a recruiter will get the answer

You need to have a green card or a visa. There is much more you will need. Like education proof, birth certificate and a few other things. Just call 1-800-Marines. They will help you find a local recruiter

They say you need to be a US Citizen, but I've heard of people earning there citizenship through military service. Talk to a recruiter.

You only have to be a resident alien of the U.S. to enlist. U.S. citizenship is only required for commissioned officers. However, your being a resident alien might affect your ability to gain a security clearance needed for certain military assignments.

as long as you are a Permanent Resident with a Green card, you can enlist. That is the ONLY way in. the military cannot and will not help you to get the green card.

I don't think you need to be a citizen, my son went to bootcamp with some guys that were not U.S. Citizens yet. Go figure?
