All of the troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan are volunteers. Therefore they have chosen to place themselves in positions that leave them injured and disabled! If they were to have remained civilians they would not have been exposed to these situations. It was their own doing that brought these conditions upon themselves so therefore legally they aren't entitled to any disability benefits what so ever!

China has been purchasing Russian missiles and fighter planes. In addition, China has nuclear missiles capable of striking cities in the US. While the United States can easily overwhelm Chinese forces, America cannot invade China because there is over 1.5 billion people living in China. If Taiwan declares formal independence, then China would go to war against the US. Remember China has no aircraft carriers but US does have 11 carriers. There is already a war in Iraq and there will a military draft if US goes to war with China.

What is the harm/ benefit of getting enrolled in EFMP? I have an anxiety disorder, but I'm considering lying to my EFMP screener so that I don't get enrolled in the EFMP program. (I am the wife of a service member, by the way.) We have orders to PCS to Hawaii, and I'm wondering if my disclosure of this information will screw up our orders? So, should I just lie & say nothing about my anxiety disorder to the EFMP screener. (All of my therapy & treatment has been through civilian providers, so there is no record of it in the MTF system. In other words, it would be easy to lie about it.....)

Thanks for any info!

I'm going through ROTC and I earned a scholarship in high school. Following that I broke my back in a motorcycle accident and went through a lengthy waiver process. I'm fully healed and have no restrictions, as stated by my doctor. ROTC just denied my waiver, so obviously I don't get the scholarship. My bigger concern is the phrasing of the refusal; "Multi-service disqualification." Does this mean I'm no longer able to join the military as well, even though I'm perfectly healthy?

I was watching a program and they were talking about bringing back the draft to the US and making it mandatory every time the President declares a war . To be honest this does seem interesting . For example - If Mr. Bush had to have a draft to invade Iraq and Afghanistan we most likely wouldn't be there and if we were , public opposition would be so strong be now , that the war would be over .

The people on the show also stated it was a shared sacrifice and also said the President might abuse the power since every time he declares war , he has an enormous amounts of man power .

Anyway - Do you believe a mandatory draft is a good idea ? Why or why not .

See, I have a friend who is already enlisted in the Navy, and he'll be going soon as he's out of high school. He's 17 right now. And he just told me yesterday, and I am so worried about him. Him getting hurt or dying would kill me. Are my fears irrational? Is the Navy really dangerous? Are they likely to go to combat? Or is just like the Army that's dangerous?

I know people think "Anyone" who served is a hero, actually anyone who served, majority of us just did our jobs.

My Questions is when you say, anyone who served is a hero, how do you compare a Lt Micheal Murphy ,Medal of Honor winner to someone like "Nineteen_Questions" a weeney who comes on yahoo forum boasting he is a vet who never left USA, no fair play to the wee guy he served in uniform for FOUR whole years looking at photos in a nice safe air force base in the US, I mean it takes a lot of guts to do that AND all would be fine if this fine outstanding wee hero left it at that, BUT he has taken it upon himself to EMail real vets on this forum and demand they prove to him they served.

Now in my book someone like that deserves not only ZERO respect but contempt as well, what is your opinion ???

Fear that a US attack on Iran could lead the Islamic Republic to stop its oil exports or block key shipping channels for oil tankers in the Straits of Hormuz is one of the factors that has driven oil prices to record highs in recent years.
He predicted however that hostilities would not break out.
"My prediction is that no war will break in the region," he said. "Our assessment is that this region will not witness a war. There is no cause for concern ... America and its allies are incapable of launching a strike against us."
