Arabic or Farsi for an impending war against Iran? Just trying to get a consences

Arabic would be the more valuable of the two. Farsi is mainly spoken in Iran, but Arabic is spoken in many countries. I'm retired and out of the loop, but still I haven't heard any rumblings aside from political rhetoric that would suggest that war with Iran is inevitable.

Farsi is the main language of Iran. The Iranians are Persians, not Arabs. But, it would be worthless to learn it since we don't have to put troops in and establish a command on Iranian soil. We can destroy all of their potential nuclear weapons capability, their air power resources and most of their Navy with air power and the use of cruise missiles launched from Navy vessels.

My husband is in Iraq and is learning both, I would suggest the same he started with Arabic and just recently started Farsi. I am gonna say both though.

If you get a job as a crypto-linguist I think the military tells you what to learn.

Arabic, you can work on deals involving OPEC or small like translating, its all up to you
