Force Recon is designed to gather intel. behind the lines for extended periods of time and not be seen or heard. When they leave, leave no trace of there having been there, If found they are trained and armed with enough fire power to create a huge problem for whoever stumbles on them, but not for a long period of time. Typically enough to reach an area where they can be extracted. They are the best at what they do.
The Rangers are designed to operate like a very highly trained infantry platoon. These guys do things the average grunt unit isn't equipped to do. They are very good by Army standards, even world standards, but are equal to a Marine infantry platoon in training and capabilities. Except for Rangers being jump qualed.
The SEAL's are a breed apart from the rest. They are in teams like Recon. What they do is little known except to seals and other operators that have worked with them. They do a lot behind the lines, and carry no identifying material. They are quick, quite, and can be very Violante when need be. They are trained to operate equally efficiently on Sea, Air, Land, hence SEAL.

Lemme get this straight, you got Navy SEAL, USMC Force Recon, or Army Rangers? What about SF? Wouldn't that be a more accurate comparison? Well Marine, since you care more about being fair, than accurate. I will answer your question. Rangers over you SKWID any day. I noticed you left off from the list, Army Special Forces, and the Para-Jumpers, too. One thing to remember is that your brothers in arms may sometimes be better at a given task or mission. That's why we have so many different Special Operations Groups. So many special operations. I don't know that I would want a Ranger Platoon trying to rescue hostages. Seals would be better suited. Force Recon would be a great deep Intel/forward surveillance asset in many situations. When I think of a light force which can reliably take and hold any objective, I think Rangers. My hat is off to all special operators. They all get the best toys.

Better at what ?
They all train for different missions.
So you really cannot compare them.
That would be like asking, who's better, the Boston Red Soxs or the new England Patriots.
