Why is it that you feel compelled to carry on these childish on-line feuds with others? You're doing just what he wants. The old saying is "never waste your time arguing with an idiot."

Because they don't know anything about the military. Only the Army and Marines use the MOS system. The Navy has Navy Enlisted Classifications (NECs). I'm not familiar with the occupational designations in the Coast Guard. I never served one day in the Air Force but I do know they use Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs).

All the other branches use Military Occupation Specialities (MOSs) to define their job title. If you dont serve in the Air Force or work with the Air Force your probably dont know that. I've worked side by side with plenty of Army personnel and when they ask my what my MOS is and I state 1C571, they look at me all confused. Then again, I dont know everything about all the other branches either. Its a common mistake and just that.

By the way, just because someone from another branch asks you what your MOS is, does not meen they are a poser. It just meens they aren't familure with the Air Force system.

Edit:
- Desertviking_00: Thanks for the info on the Navy's version of the AFSC/MOS.

I dunno I know that since I joined the AF in 1998 I have only seen or heard about AFSCs (Air Force Specialty Code). I happen to be a 2A571. I don't even want to know what an "mos" is.
