i was wondering how the r and r worked for the 15 month tours in iraq. while in afghanistan for a yr my husband got 15days but since this will be a longer length of time i'm confused. is there still the one time 15days or is there 2 breaks given? thanks in advance to any help to clarify

thanks so far just one thing is the 18 days all in one visit or is it a split visit of 9 days each.

He gets 18 days. And since it's a fifteen month deployment, he'll get 3 admin leave days at the end. More if his previous deployment qualifies him for it.

You recieve 18 days of leave at some point in his deployment. Each unit has different cut offdates/windows that you are allowed to take leave. Of course not everyone can take it at the same time either. His leave does not start till the following day he arrives at the final destination that is labled on his leave paperwork. So it may take 6 days to get their, his 18 days dont start till the following day. His leave /should/ stop the day he flies out from his leave location, though I am not 100% sure on that.

its 15 to 18 days depending on the units SOP. He will only get it once. For the extra days deployed he will get 3 extra days of leave when he gets home permanently and and extra $1,000 a month for every month over 12 months.
