Im about to go into the Army, i wanna get into the medical field. Im tired of using student loans to further my education, and one of the reasons i wanna go in the Army, is the GI bill, they will pay for your education, ive also heard that they will repay your government student loans over time.
MY question is this, i heard and have some great concerns that everyone tells me that while on active duty you will NEVEr have time to goto college, or take classes. Has anyone bee in the miltary and attended college, or tried, how did it work? WIll i have time. Whats the point of going into the army to help with education, if you never have time. Any advice would be appreciated. thank you. HAs anyone had there student loans repaid?

I left from my unit last year in October. We were not being deployed ....I was not trying to avoid the war. My Wife had an affair and with the stress of being a new Soldier, I couldn't handle everything. I took the easy way out and I regret it everyday. I have heard of people re-joining the army after being away for years. I would give anything to re-join the ranks regardless of the rank I am given and do my best to finish what I started. I am not a war resister...nor am I running away to Canda and applying for citizenship. I just want an honest chance to fix the most terrible desicion I have ever made. Any advice on what I can do...please tell me. I was in Vicenza, It as a paratrooper. Before you reply with 'your a coward", please understand that my guilt has been haunting me everyday for the past year...I just want to fix a bad choice.

Will they come home? How will we get them all home fast enough to keep them out of harm if they are out of resources? What will happen to all the equiptment over there? If congress cuts funding will Bush be forced to bring troops home or will they be stuck there while congress and bush go back and forth? What do you think will happen?

I'm 16 yrs. old and I have two older brothers...one of them is in med. school....and the other is ....well, joining the Navy...both of my parents are doctors and of course, they wanted us to somewhat follow in the medical field...they're pretty infuriated that my bro's joining the naval academy...and my mom's freaking out...i don't want my brother to go....not in a bad way..it's not like he may be drafted or anything...but he really loves the military? do you think we should prevent him from going or just let him pursue his "hopefully" desired dream?

I read that Eisenhower said he would use a nuke just as you would use a bullet, but how close did the US actually get to using them against China?

Less violence in Iraq...maybe, but maybe most of the killing is over because everyone slated for killing is already dead. Meanwhile the war spreads to other areas....which to me is just an extention of the same war. Overall the death rate seems to be the same if not more. Just because the 'war was over in Normandy', that didn't mean the war was over...it had just moved on. Wadda' 'ya think?

The old BOQ Builing was our Submarine Squadron 15 Enlisted Barracks. I lived there in 1978. We played that course several times. Also, do you know what it was called?

I'm visiting Seoul and South Korea (been here three weeks now). From what I gather, it seems the South Koreans would rather deal with N.Korea themselves and leave US out of it. So, if this is the case, why is our army still stationed in Seoul and at the DMZ? (I am American.) I'm just curious...
