United Concordia is the dependent dental plan. It covers a portion of having wisdom teeth removed. It covers local anesthetic, but not general. I had my wisdom teeth out a few months ago and it cost me $400 after United Concordia. Make sure you go to a dentist that takes United Concordia and they submit the proper pre-approval paperwork.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled last year. There is a list that Tricare will give you with Approved Dentist that are covered. I had to pay $350 to have them pulled. Tricare covered only the visit and pain killers. It depends on where you are located and what Tricare you have. We have Tricare Prime. Good Luck.

no. Dental is NOT part of Tricare, it is under United Concordia. Dental has a monthly fee as well as a co-pay. Wisdom teeth would be around a 20% co pay. and if they are an issue, you will NOT pass an overseas screening, which means you couldn't get them taken care of OCONUS anyway, as they'd make you yank them before giving you Command sponsorship..happened to me. ended up paying out of pocket about $500 to have 2 wisdom teeth pulled.

You are looking for United Concordia, not tricare. That is the dental insurance. You have to apply for it seperatly and its not automatic. You will get a different insurance card for you dental insurance. They will cover dental procedures but there will be a copay.

I *THINK* you can apply for it on line, google united concordia.

Dental is provided by Concordia not Tricare, and a co-pay would be involved.

They pay their half and you pay yours. I am getting braces, they pay a part and I am paying about 3 thousand of it. I wish they would cover the hwole thing, but they don't most of the time cleanings don;t cost that much.
