Many Bush supporters believe that we should just WIPE OUT whole areas of different nations that have terrorists--without any forethought.

With the exception of Obama, it seems are illustrious Democratic candidates feel that we SHOULD use such weapons on areas--of certain countries--that harbor such terror organizations.

Is this what it means to "take the gloves off"--if conventional warefare fails to uproot terrorism?

My date for boot camp is coming in a few months but i just found out that i have a disease! Ulcerative colitis...this would be a disqualification if i was trying to join the military but i have been sworn in and have been reporting for drills regularly. my recruiter says keep it on the hush, hush. but is this enough of a reason to have me discharged for having this disease that is not contagious?

I was wondering this because officers should and many do, lead from the front. Also, they would be a much better target for the enemy as they are in command of the men. However, soldiers are sometimes told what to do and do all of the
cr appy jobs. If you look at casualties in iraq, there are a lot more soldiers killed than officers but if you look at in terms of percentages, officers make up only about 15% of the armed forces and many still od die.
What do you guys think, who would be at most risk on a battlefield- officer or soldier.

The evidence to date shows enormous progress in the areas affected by the surge: Anbar Province has become the safest place in Iraq outside of the Kurdish Zone, and Bagdad is more secure now than at the begining of the insurgency. The 'Clear and Hold' doctrine of Gen. Petraeus along with increased co-operation with security forces and even nationalist groups has led to great progress and superb moral, even so many democrats want to further their agenda by pulling out anyway and would much rather the surge be a dismal failure : http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/30/AR2007073001380_pf.html
If Petraeus reports great progress in sectarian violence, security, compatence of Iraqi security forces, and says we could win the war(stable democratic Iraq w/no secatarian violence) in a couple of years (1-3) would you start supporting the war?

Ok, first off, I want to know why we are putting up with this crap? Why are the American people just burying our heads in the sand and not saying anything about getting our troops home!?! Why is it ok for our friends, brothers, sisters, dads, moms, cousins to die for a cause that was never there to begin with? And we've done NOTHING! We demanded that Clinton be impeached for putting his wanker in certain places, but Bush has legally murdered thousands of our citizens and we do nothing....I just don't get it. Don't get me wrong, and think that I'm anti-war, because I was right there with them in the beginning....but I just don't understand now. What is the real truth behind the war in Iraq...and why have we done nothing to stop it!
