USMC without a doubt.
Revolutionary Guard: Willing to die for the cause.
USMC: Willing to let them.
Any units of the RG that tried to fight in the last 2 Gulf Wars were quickly overrun.

The Iran revoultionary guard corp is all thill no kill, they parade them around on Iranian TV, much like America parades around Sigfried an Roy. But in the end they put on a much better show than they can actually deliver.
The British SAS are the only large scale military organization that can go toe to toe with the Marine corp.

Iran Revolutionary Guards are really good at running, but have a bad sense of direction. Their behavior in the Gulf War was atrocious, but I don't blame them. Never underestimate your enemy, but when your commander in chief has a habit of blowing the brains out of his military leaders what kind of reaction can you expect from your troops.
Have you read anything about their behavior or seen pictures of the Road of Death. Our military leaders finally had to tell our troops to stop turning the road into more of a slaughter road than already was.
If the Rev Guards were better than the Marines we wouldn't be in Iraq now. And our troops would be on the above mentioned road.

Iran 's so called Guard couldn't move a line in the sand after 8 years of war with Iraq. They look pretty as they GOOSE STEP march in their parades. Some may stand and fight at first but the rest will be chased by the Marines ( as they drop weapons and change clothes so they can blend in with the populace ).

Another vote for Rotorheads answer.
I liked the way Iran sent waves of teenagers at the Iraqis during their 7 year itch.
The Middle East...only Africa has lower literacy rates, up to their butts in oil money with combined military strenght that the little ole land of Israel has whooped every time.
Iran speaks loudly because they have No Stick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

USMC - better trained, real world experience, better weapons and gear.
IRGC - not as well trained, think they take their orders from God (through the Supreme Leader), and don't have as good of weapons.
The USMC would win hands down.

Having served a long time in Iran during the Shah's day and observing the cowardly Iranian military, I would say with complete honesty that about all they are good at is walking around holding hands. Something they do a lot of in addition to other unmentionable things. Their entire being is stealing something, nailed down or not, or taking advantage of any situation for their own benefit.
They have only loyalty to theirselves and would run at the first appearance of a Marine, gunship or Boy Scout.
They have no concern, whatsoever, about their family and would place their own kids in front of them to draw fire.
They are so stupid that during one episode on the flight line one of them walked directly into the running props of an aircraft. We tried to teach them how to probe for mines and they walked backwards into the mine field as they used their knives to probe.
They treat their women like animals and attempted to do so with our female military personnel. Entering restricted areas where we had to wear a badge, they would pretend to reach for the badge clipped on our shirt pockets and try to fondle breasts of our military women.
I was air evacuated out of Bandar Abbas because the idiots provided us drinking water in barrels that had previously held JP-4 jet fuel and I nearly lost my kidney function. The air evacation occurred on an Iranian C-130 aircraft and I had be tied down on a stretcher on the floor where I accompanied a huge spare propellor that was tied down with the rope and moved back and forth nearly crushing me as I lay there unable to move. I was dropped off on the stretcher in the middle of the runway in Teheran, laid there for 2 hours before I could get untied and walked/crawled a mile and a half the air terminal where I found help. Put in the Iranian hospital I nearly died from lack of care. Hell, they don't even bring patients food. That's up to the family and thank goodness for my men who basically snuck me out of country on one of our aircraft to a hospital in Germany. I volunteered for the rescue of American hostages in 1979 because I wanted to go back and wipe the Iranian bastards off the earth. Unfortuantely politics came into play just like the events of today in Iraq.
In other words, I'd go over and kill the bastards myself, given the chance, and probably could wipe out the entire Revoluntary Guard with a BB gun. To compare, or even think it, that our Marines couldn't defeat those idiots is a ridiculous question. Send the Salvation Army over there and they would whip their butts off!
