I was reading in the newspapers this morning that the war in Iraq is now costing the US $4000 a second working out at over $126 Billion a year. This is a staggering amount of money which is being simply wasted in order to pursue the NeoCons dreams of global conquest. Think about how many schools and hospitals could be built with this money, instead it is being used to bringeven more death and destruction to Iraq

A little something to lighten the mood. :-)

When I was in the Army, we used to say our US ARMY tape meant, "Uncle Sam Ain't Released Me Yet." Or, if you happened to be looking in the mirror, "Yes, My Retarded A** Signed Up."

So, do the other branches have something similar? If so, what? And also, are there any more Army ones?

Let's have a little fun with this. ;-)

Jane Fonda, for those of you who didnt know, went over to North Vietnam during the Vietnam war in support of the Communist forces. Back then she was known as "Hanoi Hannah" She actively interogated sever captured US airmen shot down over North Vietnam. I think this kind of scum should be lined up on a wall and shot. This is not an example of an exercise of free speech. She is a traitor to her nation and to all those who fought and died for it. Why she is still walking around within the USA is beyond me, why no one has killed her yet surprises me even more. Why should we let this treachorous monster roam the nation she once campaigned against?

I know I may sound like a real ***** but after 2 months of my monthly drills, I've started to think if joining the illinois national guard was right for me. I want to keep going to school and lately I've been having deep thoughts on whether this was a right choice for me.. Deep inside I don't want to go but I joined because my family is poor but I've come to a change of heart and now i really don't want to go. Go ahead and talk trash to me if you must but could there be anyway of getting out before my scheduled departure to boot camp in October?

Hi, I got a 93 on my ASVAB is that a good score and what does it really mean? My SATs are a 1210 on the old scale, with a 91 GPA at a very rigerous private school. I also have been in Honors and AP classes my whole high school career. Im not trying to sound cockey because trust me Im the shy kid if anything, but are these factors good enough to get me an ROTC scholorship for Air Force, Army, or Navy? I want to go to an Academy but I know my grades aren't impressive enough. Also, I am in relatively good shape because I do crew year round, and thus can run all day.

I'm a biggie book worm and I'm scared i wont be physically ready for boot camp, what should i do? And should i even try, im a veggie so my parents said i'd never make unless i started eating meat again but i've been a veggie for six years. Should i give up on the military or should i keep trying? Will i sacrafice to get in only to fail boot camp?

Is Saudi Arabia a friend of the United States or an enemy?

We invaded Iraq, took over their country, murdered many civilians. The insurgents, or "terrorists" who fight back, are demonized by mainstream America. Now, if the Mexican, Canadian, Chinese, or Russian, or whatever foreign army invaded the States, took over, murdered our people, wouldn't we be doing the same thing to them what the Iraqi "terrorists" are doing to us? Isn't that what our founding fathers, Patriots, Sons of Liberty, Continental Army did to the Redcoats during the War of Independence??

Also, it's very possible, in fact, it's been PROVEN that 9/11 was an INSIDE JOB. Very similar to the Reichstag incident in 1933. Bush is a NAZI.

When I was younger, I had an xray done on my knee because at that time I did have pain in my knee. The doctor had told me that it was just growing pains, but sent me to have an xray done on it. I never had anything done to them surgically, and I have outgrow my knees even hurting the least bit. My summed question is, would this be an alarming issue to MEPS, or should I just explain it to them.

Thanks,
Matt

During the Revolutionary War, George Washington forbade mistreatment of POW's, even thought the British and Hessians killed innocent American civilians had a tendency to abuse and execute captured American rebel troops.

The logic used to justify mistreatment of Iraqi Pow's and terror suspects is the same the British used during the Revolutionary War. American rebel troops did not follow the normal rules of engagement. They did not always wear uniforms and hid among civilians.

Washington said "We are fighting for a cause, and our cause requires that we behave with honor."

He also told his troops that by treating POW's humanely, they could be convinced to join the American cause.

Do terrorist deserve humane treatment? No.

Should they be treated humanely anyway? Yes.

Why? Because that is what separates us from them. That is what makes us the good guys and them the bad guys.
