I was reading in the newspapers this morning that the war in Iraq is now costing the US $4000 a second working out at over $126 Billion a year. This is a staggering amount of money which is being simply wasted in order to pursue the NeoCons dreams of global conquest. Think about how many schools and hospitals could be built with this money, instead it is being used to bringeven more death and destruction to Iraq

I completely agree with you there. And to all of the people who said that we should rid the world of terrorism...well it would help if we went after the right country. Iraq didn't threaten us, and Iraq didn't have WMD's. It is not America's right to try and control another country. It is however the responsibility of whoever is running the country to take care of the American people. It is their responsibility to make better schools, better hospitals, and a better way of life for the American people and so far that hasn't been done. The money is being wasted on trying to make another country better instead of improving our own.

If you believe the war is illegal, there is a valid step to correcting that situation. Get together with those who think like you, hire some lawyers and challenge the consitutionality of Public Law #107-243. That is the Congressional Authorization for the use of military force against Iraq. It was enacted in 2002. Chief Justice Marshall, in writing the majority opinion in the case of Marbury versus Madison, did assert that any law repugnant to the Constitution is null and void. You might want to try and see if this is the case here.
I don't think your case will stand a snow ball's chance in hell because Article One, Section 8 gives the Congress the power to declare war and Article One also gives the Congress reign over the funding of the armed forces.

Well She the Presidential candidate wants to and intends on building schools all over the world for "the children" her (phony slogan). She did not say more schools all over the US, she said all over the world. How much you think that will cost? Oh!!! more money on something that does not benefit the US one hundred percent. This is such a staggering amount of money to pursue a dream of someone wanting to control and brainwash our kids. Guess you really think that all this money is "only been spent on the war". wrong, you need to research it. Lots of pork is included in war funding bills, how you think they get them passed, one at a time. lol

Think about how many of those schools and hospitals would be blown up because we weren't spending 126 billion a year to kill those evil terrorists who want all Americans dead. And another thing, don't believe everything you read because you might become a NeoLib

That's okay. There aren't enough doctors, nurses, and teachers to staff the hospitals and schools we already have. We might as well rid the world of terrorism.

Lotta news hype, good chunks of this money would be used up in military payroll and training anyway even if everybody was in CONUS.

Think about how much money could be pis$ed away on social programs instead of ridding the world of terrorists.

Sure a few buildings might get knocked down but having PowerPoint projectors in every Kindergarten room in AMerica seems like it would be worth it.

But Maxx - according to Bush's intelligence AQ is stronger now than at any period since before we went into Afghanistan. So if the money was supposed to rid us of terrorists - it really has not been spent well given the opposite has happened.

well, tell the extremist Muslims head cutters terrorizing people in Iraq to stop, to let the Iraqi people finally live in peace instead of fear of been killed by some luny's car bomb and/or beheading and we will stop.....simple!

if you manage that we will stop fighting your "illegal war" in Iraq.....!

you people...!
