This person told atleast three people of her intentions. Is there a penalty for doing this? I cant believe anyone would bring a child into this world for that reason only. If this person could be reported, who would you contact?

That happens all the time. Is it right Nope but It happens. I'm almost positive that it's not a penalty for this, that's why this method is so popular.
People bring childern in the world for all sorts of dumb things like trapping a man so dont let that get to you.
Try your luck at contacting the CO but you may have to have proof. for it to be investigated. But dont worry It's not going to matter if this person has a baby. If they stay in they will go we will be at this thing for a while.

I feel females who do this should be ashamed, that is all I heard at meps , bct, and ait from females they would get pregnant to avoid being deployed, reality is you joined during war so your gonna be a punk about it and get pregnant so you wont deploy? ok let them , but I hope they understand if they plan on staying in the military its suppose to be 6 months after the baby is born they can still deploy , but with everything else its up to the CO..

I dont agree with how they have planned this out, I think it is sad.. its only showing those males who feel we have no right to be here they are right for feeling this way..I work harder to prove I have earn my place in the Guard, I take advantage of College for myself to better myself , I am not lazy out of shape and a cry baby.. I am way to old for bull sh**.

For the same reason other soldiers shoot them selves, it is a ticket home, the same people are redeployed to the war zone 3 or 4 times or more, I have a better idea if it bothers you that she wants to get pregnant to keep from going to Iraq, Why don't you volunteer to go in her place, why are so many young , healthy American youth not volunteering to fight for their country. That you claim to be so proud of. Its safer to do your fighting at the keys of a computer, and sprout your rant!

I believe there is some trouble she could get into. This is a deliberate action to get out of her duties. It would be one thing if it happened by accident, but if she is going around shooting her mouth off claiming she is going to get pregnant to get our of a tour to Iraq, then legal action could be taken against her by her home unit. I'm not sure exactly what type of action, whether it would be an Article 15 or worse (discharge, etc.). But I'm pretty sure she would get into trouble if the military branch wanted to pursue it. Meet with a JAG to get more answers. Possibly contact the base IG.

Deliberately getting pregnant in order to avoid duty could be punished under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UMCJ) Art. 115. Malingering. Malingering is defined as feigning illness, physical disablement, mental lapse / derangement or intentionally injuring oneself. Malingering is prevalent in all militaries, more prevalent among males than females per capita. Malingering is rarely addressed as a disciplinary matter but more as a psychological problem. Remember Klinger from the TV series M*A*S*H?

She shouldn't still be in the military. She signed the contract saying she would do it for the country. Females like her gave the good females in the military a bad rep. If you have proof of her saying something like that then go ahead to her command and let them know. They will take it from there. She could be sent to the brig and then get dishonorably discharged or just dishonorably discharged. Then when she gets out of that sort she will not have a easy time adjusting back to the civilian life because of that dishonorably discharge.

I believe if you told her C.O. this she would get in trouble. At least get a less than honorable Discharge. Then again what ever Branch she's in could just keep her in and not deploy her. It's to bad All she wants is the pay check and Benefits.

Its actually none of your business!

And you would have a hard job to prove it, as far as I know getting pregnant is not yet a crime in the USA.
