Jane Fonda, for those of you who didnt know, went over to North Vietnam during the Vietnam war in support of the Communist forces. Back then she was known as "Hanoi Hannah" She actively interogated sever captured US airmen shot down over North Vietnam. I think this kind of scum should be lined up on a wall and shot. This is not an example of an exercise of free speech. She is a traitor to her nation and to all those who fought and died for it. Why she is still walking around within the USA is beyond me, why no one has killed her yet surprises me even more. Why should we let this treachorous monster roam the nation she once campaigned against?

The stories are not just someone made up. These stories are from those who were actually there. Who are you to say that they are not true?

Like I said before: Actively interogating US airmen is TREASON. This is NOT about voicing opinions or expresing their freedom of speech.

My mistake, she was "Hanoi Jane."

I think she should. She has the right to her opinion but she crossed the line when she sat behind an enemy weapon that had just killed a bunch of American soldiers. And for those who don't think she directly contributed to the torture of US POWs is a moron and I dare you to say it to the POW veteran's face.

Secondly, it doesn't matter how long ago it happened or who her father was (by the way he wasn't impressed with her either) she should be held accountable for her crimes. It's a slap in the face to the Vietnam veterans that she hasn't spent an hour behind bars for treason.

What's worse is the fake, ridiculous non-apology she tried to pass off. Making excuses that she was young (she was in her 30's!) and that the government was lying to her. Again, excuses not an apology. (Like the same government wasn't lying to the troops?) Give me a break!

Finally, I'd like to proudly add that my step-father, a Vietnam vet, (173rd Air Borne Brigade, LRRP, fought for the hill in Dak To) had the honor of arresting her on Fort Bragg, while he was station there as an MP, for handing out her stupid literature to new troops. (she was told she could speak but no fliers) . She slapped him and before he could lay her out like every vet would like to, another MP reminded him of the press people and took over the booking. She was out within minutes of course but OMG if only he could've knocked her back one.

And for the idiot who mentioned slander to the questioner, are you kidding? You are more worried about us slandering this ***** than her being a traitor. Clearly you've never worn a uniform. Your welcome for my service to your freedom.

No. A conviction for treason demands that purpose be proved. although misguided and despicable her strikes have been, she grew to become into no longer attempting to injury u.s., she grew to become into attempting to sell peace. there have been different issues she would have been charged with, yet a can charge of treason could have been very tricky to uphold in something corresponding to a truthful trial. She wasn't tried because of the fact this sort of trial could have better polarized an already bitterly polarized u . s . a . at a time while reconciliation grew to become into the order of the day, the Vietnam conflict grew to become into winding down and Nixon and the country wanted to place it in the back of us. It had no longer something to do with Henry Fonda, politicians, do no longer supply a flaming hoot approximately such issues, if it were in Nixon's pastime to have her tried, she could have been tried. And as quickly as we are going to look at individuals who've broken u.s., Jane Fonda is microscopic, there is infinitely better crimes with the help of folk in intense workplace basically in the previous decade and persevering with right now. there is greater important issues to agonize approximately than what a misguided action picture megastar did an prolonged time in the past.

Yes absolutely, this is not a story, she is a traitor along with the "Hippy Movement" and the chickens**t draft dodgers that ran off to Canada. Fonda snitched off POWs for passing notes to her, for their familys while visiting a POW camp. They were severely tortured and killed. She, as an American in a Communist country at war with the US, had no rights. Who ever disagrees with these known facts are traitors yourselves. Folks, you all better wake up and understand this will never be "old news". I was there, and many like me can never, never forgive. It would be treasonous to feel any other way. Obviously many of you refuse to belive or have not seen the film footage of her laughing and coverting with the enemy at the helm of a anti-aircraft gun wearing a North Viet-Nameese helmet. She is a Dirty Treasonous B***h that helped to kill over 58,000 of my friends. I cannot expect anyone to understand the depth of this unless you were there. most definatley she should be

her anti war stance was repulsive but not treason

she crossed the line however when she was handed slips of paper with the POW service men's ssn's on them so they could get out they were there and instead of sneaking them back to american officials she took them all and handed them to the NVA officer
Each man was beaten for their actions some were crippled.

for those that say it didnt happen probably say the holucaust didnt happen either.

I read books written by the men it happened to.

for that she should have faced charges.

by the way you knew he meant hanoi jane but thanks for pasting way too much info

The stories are true. After her little visit some of the POW's tried to hand her notes telling the true story of their captivity. She handed the note to the Vietcong guards.

Those men are still dead, regardless of how long ago it was, her actions still caused their death.

I believe that she should be charged with treason and as an accessory to murder.

Point One, if she had any charges of treason to answer
it would have been taken care off back then, it is now very old news.

Point two, the way you phrase this question it could be taken as incitement to commit a crime, namely murder.

Point three, "Hanoi Jane" interviewed American Airmen in front of North Vietnamese TV, she did not "actively interrogate" anybody, because if she did then she would have faced charges upon her return to the USA, which her rich daddy John Ford could not help to protect her from with his money and influence.

Point four, I doubt that anybody really cares what you think, there is no law in the USA that allows for a person to be stood against a wall and shot even the US Military have abolished the death penalty.

Point five, you are wrong yet again, "Hanoi Hannah" was a North Vietnamese radio broadcaster, (similar to the WW2 Japanese "Tokyo Rose") who broadcast propaganda against the US military.

Point 6. your profile states the following:

" About me: I am a soldier currently working on my bachelors in History. I like Yahoo Answers because it allows me to learn new things and help answer other people's questions, especially about the military.

I hate, however, how people use it to spout stupid rhetoric just to incite arguements.**"

Yes, and Ted Turner should be shot for having so much money! If Jane had committed any crimes she would have been hounded to death by J. Edgar Hoover and his thugs, but people like you don't remember him, do you? What about the Police Riot in Chicago, ay the 1968 DEMOCRATIC convention? What about the innocent teenagers shot to death at Kent State University in May 1970? What about the crack monsters killing and maiming honest black folks in the ghetto in 2007? Jane was a dumb kid back then, and did not have the criminal intent that you display here.

If Jane Fonda can be charged with treason, shouldn't Dick Cheney and Karl Rove be charged with treason for outing a CIA agent (Valerie Wilson)?

I agree 100 percent completely. Fonda deserves to be locked away in a government cage. She supported a government that tortured american pows. She also posed on one of their anti aircraft guns used to shoot down american planes. She also is a terrible actor.
