you said: "im in the air force now shippin out in about a month cuz i couldnt switch branches to the army..."
You wanted to do a "Blue to Green" program switch and they wouldn't let you? Thats amazing. I have read in the AFtimes that they have not even come close to amount of blue they want to switch to green. I couldn't imagine why they wouldn't let you switch.
Look into TAC-P. They even let you wear Army patches on your AF bdu's in that career field.
To the rest of your question, they do have taskings which are called ILO's, or In Lieu Of taskings. There are currently over five thousand AF guys and gals filling Army billets in the AOR. Now, these are mostly logistical and supply slots but we are fulfilling Army taskings to alleviate their shortfalls. No infantry slots being filled that I know of however.

Yes, but it is entirely up to the Air Force. Many Airmen are driving, manning machine guns, check points, etc. Working directly with the Army is especially true for Security Police, forward air observers, and weather personnel but most anyone can be tapped.
You are not trained as an infantryman and would get soldiers killed if you were in a maneuver unit so, if that is your desire, it won't happen.
In general, you will not be attached to an Army unit anyway. For FACs, their Group Commander retains operational control in their support and in weather, the Staff Weather Officer has operational control. Half of all weather airmen are in Army Support - not just combat weather. There is generally a SWO at corps level and at division level and a tactical weather team is generally assigned to each corps and division as well as to each aviation brigade/regiment.

Well, you can deploy to Iraq. You can work on an Army, or a mixed installation. You can also be assigned, depending on your job, directly to an Army command.
Can you go as infantry to the Army while in the USAF? No. You don't have the training. Sorry.

The answer is yes, yes and yes.
Contrary to popular belief, the United States Air Force is very involved in this ground war with various branches. You haven't told me what career field you are in, but here are just a few career fields that are involved with our sister service, the Army:
Security Forces 3P0X1
Combat Controller 1C2X1
Combat Weather 1W0X1 (a combat shred of Weather)
Tactical Air Control Party1C4X1
Especially for Combat Controller and TAC-P, these career fields are heavily imbedded with the Army and are encountering a lot of the same interaction. All these are attached to Army except for Security Forces. On the ILO (In Lieu Of) missions they pull to provide relief for the Army on Green Zone/Iraqi Training missions, they operate under Army Command, however independant of Army troops.
+++++++++++++
Something about the ILO missions. The Security Forces ILO missions have them doing combat patrols in areas we are trained to handle. No, they are NOT infantry missions, but they are getting attacked, patrolling villages off base, conducting tactical vehicle searches, and transporting detainees. The "green" in Green Zone is a misleading.
