Does the Defence Forces offer this injection to all women who enlist or Would one need to get this injection through their local GP?

Also I've been told its a contraceptive that lasts between 6 months to a year, I have never taken any form of contreceptive before so when it wears off would my period be regular? or irregular, and for how long? And is there any side effects?

Thanks in advance

you can have an implant ( i had it ) that can cease periods.
It makes the body think that it's pregnant. It is a three year contraceptive. implanon ( think that was the name??)

Some women though suffer from continual spotting, a rare few bleed continuously.

the first 18 months I had mine in .. I had no periods, but then they returned on a more than regular basis so i had the implant removed. And things returned to normal
Implanon also had other side affects ( as do many contraceptives)... I suffered from none.

I don't believe so. Women get the same injections as men, nothing more, nothing less. To be honest, the idea sounds archaic and somewhat absurd.

Women are still expected to bring their own tampons to Kapooka. This is assuming periods don't stop naturally during your stint in training as a result of stress.

The injection you are talking about is pure fantasy at the moment, medical research is in progress with regards this but its in the early stages, not all side-effects of this treatment have been studied or documented.

if you are in the defence force, you would not go to your local GP for this, you would have to go the army doctors for it. they would give it to you if it is in your best interests
