its like this:
Usually at school, when 2 kids are fighting and the fight is broken up, do both kids usually think they are right?
or if you are in a fight at school, do you just walk up and start fighting some kid? or are you fighting because the kid did somethign to you?...maybe he punched you in the face, or stole your lunch? or stole your backpack, or stole something of yours.
You say why do they hate us? well its good that you are at least asking that question...because most americans dont care why we are hated, or they believe propaganda thats been drummed into them.
We are hated because our country has stepped on the toes of some people over time,,,and they have built up a lot of hatred of us because of it.....and they are saying they are sick and tired of it and they are not going to take it nicely anymore.
Of course, we dont care how they feel, so in reaction to their hatred, we react by stepping even more on their toes and enraging them even further.
and wars happen and wars continue and oil is secured and big rich companies that make weapons and rebuild things and countries that we destroy keep making billions of dollars....etc..
let me ask you this...if you were making billions and billions of dollars because of wars and tensions of wars ....would you work to stop war or would you stay the course?

Hello Saturn;
what if Iraq invaded the United States in order to stop the murder of Americans by a dictator instead of a President. What if those Iraqi stayed until the violence died down and the local governments can get their act together. What if our Congress was more concerned with politics than with the welfare of the United States. What if the Canadians never want the US back on its feet and send terrorists across the border to kill Americans and Iraqi soldiers.

Most Iraqis like us believe it or not. When I was there I had old women, old men, young kids, and teenage youth come to our trucks and thank us. One old woman was so happy to see us she jumped from a moving car and gave us all hugs and kisses while crying thanking us. What you are seeing is other countries that hate us that are sending their own people over to get the chance to fight the US. Iraqis for the most part are decent people that want to better their country but the cant do it without us being there to provide some kind of overwatch for them while they do so. Granted there are some that hate us, but it doesnt matter where you go in the world you will have at least one enemy.

Whats happening is not iraqis attacking us its a percentage of extremists. One thing we all have to understand about extremist islamics that as long as anyone who doesnt follow the kuran or whatever its called is in there area of the world we should die, they want us out of there no matter what. It has nothing to do with money, lifestyle or anything, religion is the reason to them, we are the infidal and no matter what there variation of the bible has decided we should not exist there, even governments in saudi arabia and iran encourage this, there depiction of there religion is so far off that no matter what if were there we should be dead, scary but true, that is it.

They hate us because of what America stands for, what we believe in and how will live in a free society. Iraq doesn't hate us. It's the radical Islamo fascists that hate us. America is the greatest country on the planet. Be proud and don't let any wacky liberal teachers fill your head with anti-american garbage. Nobody likes war but it was and is necessary so that we fight them over there and keep them from organizing and coming over here to terrorize us. The "bad" people now in Iraq fighting against us came from other countries such as Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan. Most of Iraq wants to be free. It is very important we fight this war to victory.

First, the Iraqis are not attacking us, The roadside bombs that kill American soldiers are built and planted by Al Qaeda terrorists who come from all over the world. Many Iraqis support us in our fight against Al Qaeda, many do not because they blame us for their problems.
So... to answer the question "why does Al Qaeda hate us?" you would need to read several books to understand.
Basically they don't want girls going to school or asking complicated questions on Yahoo Answers. They don't believe our laws are valid because they were invented by men not from God.
I think that as a 5th grader you probably don't need to concern yourself with deep questions about geopolitics. You should concentrate on the following...
US Troops are dying in Iraq so that US civilians don't die in America.
Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda are bad guys who want to hurt you and your family.
If they can, they will defeat our troops in Iraq. Then they can tell the world that the US is too wimpy to fight, won't keep its promises, and that if you join them Al Qaeda can defeat the US and create a new world without freedom and democracy.

The Iraqis have never taken any action or even planned to take action against the United States. America is the invader in this war. There are American oil companies in Iraq right now working to rebuild the oil industry. The oil will be brought to the United States the oil import company owned by President Bush's father. You did know that Bush Senior has been in the oil import business since the finished as President, right?

The Iraqi's have a problem with us because we invaded their country for no reason. We are trying to control a nation that we have no business being in in the first place.

Don't buy the hype.
There is only ever one reason to go to war, and only ever one reason wars are won or lost. Political economics.
Bush won himself four more years in office because of that. And since then, the war debt has grown out of control, with huge portions of the cash being spent going to Bush's oil holdings or Cheney's Haliburton holdings (or those of their friends).
Battles are won by force, and so they are fought by use of force. Wars are won by economics, and so that is how they are fought.
Unfortunately for politicians, informing people that their sons or daughters are being killed because of profit is unpopular. For that reason, they come up with propoganda. Using terms like "fighting for hearts and minds" (from the Vietnam war) or "the war against terror" (to put positive spin on our current conflict.)
Some nations have discovered that war is not nearly as beneficial as diplomacy (like Canada and Japan, both of whom only have defensive military budgets) but I am almost certain this is because there are still a large number of politicians that think that war equals profit.

The Iraqi people are not planning terror on the US.
In fact, by a huge majority, they want nothing to do with the US. They just want the US and the US-sponsored broken parliament gone from Iraq. So, they are fighting against a govt that they don't want, one that we're trying to force on them.
Terrorists hate us for a variety of reasons -- but most terrorists are not in Iraq.
