Being in the military is not like going to summer camp. It is a serious, a deadly serious and important job. You need to be physically fit, morally and mentally strong.
You will have to eat whatever you are given to eat. This is not a vacation resort. No special consideration can be given for whatever dietary desires every recruit has.
You need to start now to get into shape. Start running a lot, start doing calisthenics, start getting up very early and doing your physical fitness regimen. Doing so will make your transition to military boot camp much easier.
Remember, the military is far more than boot camp. You can be sent anywhere in the world from deserts, to jungles, to the Arctic or anywhere in between. You may end up driving a truck, nursing the sick, manning a missile system, handling communications or doing paper work in Paris.
I just hope you realize the seriousness of this career. It is demanding and potentially dangerous. But it is the most rewarding for those who are able to measure up.

Im in a very similar situation as you almost Identical. 93 on the ASVAB and ACTs not sure but SATs on Math and Reading 1210. But my advise to you is if your a book worm, why drop school? Take this time and learn educate yourself now, because you may never get a chance to later. Plus, if you want to join go the ROTC or Academy route, youll be an officer which has a lot better lookin perks. Plus with an education you'll be a wya better leader and soldier on the battle field. Physically, Im in good shape because I do crew year round, but my advise to you is not wait to find out if your in good enough shape. Get up and run do what you can the first day and from there set goals weekly, the more you the easier it will become. Also, start working your core muscles and upper body at a gym if you can. Diet wise if you like being a vegetarian stick to it, I dont know how well that works in military mess halls but ask a local recruiter. Also, to get in shape your guna want protein and since you dont eat meat your going to have to turn to other sources like poultry, fish, eggs, and nuts. Good Luck!

here the best advice anyone could ever give you.... wait! Use that good ACT score and good grade to get into college.. after you finish up with a degree THEN go to the branch of your choice.. Most will allow you to go in as an officer if you have advanced education... then boot camp won't be as hard. you'll make more money. ect. ect.

They're right when they said you probably need to eat meat. People can live without meat, but at boot camp (and preparing for it) you're going to need serious amounts of energy that you can't easily get in other foods.
Here's an excellect article on boot camps.

if you want it bad enough you will make it through, the thing is find out what the physical requirements are for the branch you are joining and work towards accomplishing that goal, don't sit around and hope you will do ok, push yourself to get in the shape needed and you will get there.
good luck!

Run, do push-ups, and do sit-ups. That's pretty much it. You won't ever be fully physically prepared for basic training, but you'll need to do those three things well.
