Hi, I got a 93 on my ASVAB is that a good score and what does it really mean? My SATs are a 1210 on the old scale, with a 91 GPA at a very rigerous private school. I also have been in Honors and AP classes my whole high school career. Im not trying to sound cockey because trust me Im the shy kid if anything, but are these factors good enough to get me an ROTC scholorship for Air Force, Army, or Navy? I want to go to an Academy but I know my grades aren't impressive enough. Also, I am in relatively good shape because I do crew year round, and thus can run all day.

Write a letter to your senator to see if he used his sponsorship for the Academies up yet, if not see if he would sponsor you. As far as ROTC your grades, asvab, and SAT's should be sufficient to get you in. ROTC is a very good option. The big difference in the two programs is that when you graduate the Academy, you get a full commission as an officer, and when you graduate ROTC you get a reserve commission. In order to make a career of the military as an officer, you must then get augmented from a Reserve officer to a full commission, which is a very competitive process. Good luck and stay safe!

The only way to find out if you can get accepted to one of the three military academies is to apply.

And if you go in thinking you're not good enough, you won't get far in any military training.
