Military - July 2007

Hi,
I'm hoping to join the Naval Linguist program. I was just wondering what life at DLI is like??

I'd love lots of details... anything interesting. Do you even bring civilian clothes?? what is a typical week/day like.

I'd love to hear any personal experiences/comments/opinions... thanks so much!

I had four friends and some classmates . who died in Viet Nam

One died July 6th 1967 that was 40 years ago this passed Fr,

What a shame war is I think about them daily --- that is not a lie. and I visit the Viet Nam Wall website often --- http://thewall-usa.com and read things others have posted there. 40 from today someone will be be saying - I had a friend who died in Iraq 40 years ago today.

I have a website dedicated to my friends @ http://bpapa.2ya.com stop and visit it it will make you think I am sure An average of 17 boys per day died in Viet Nam compared to an average of just under 3 per day in Iraq,

Still 1 per day or any day is too many God Bless All of the men, boys girls, women who serve & sacrifice for us Send them something in a care package to show support

Im very worried because I read that in the Navy the height for women is 60 inches to 78 but my height is 59 inches but I want to know if is very stricted the height? and if there is something that can help me to grow one inch? I have 20 years and I really want to be on the Navy as a nurse. thanks everyone. My husband is in Iraq, he is getting the 3 extra pays, but today when I was looking at his LES, I wondered why he is still paying all 3 taxes, I dont remember which ones he was and which he was not supposed to be paying, can you tell me which ones please.... and if he has been paying them does he get the money back when it is brought to there attention

I am wondering if there are any programs which allow service men and women who are flying home to get free upgrades to first class? If anyone deserves it they do! Anyone have any info on this?

I heard the other day that a soldier had to give his dog to the shelter as he was being deployed and had no family to take the dog..

Is there a fostering organization for this? I am sure there are lots of families who would take the dog while the owner was away..

So people who report you for violations are now blocked from reporting you further? You need to stop your sick questions. Everyone knows you are not a female entering the military. You are a male that has an issue with women's hygiene in the military. I am a female who was in the military and I find your continuous questions very rude and disgusting. as soon as he landed in korea? or will it take a day or 2 after he gets there? he landed there at 310 pm seoul time which is 2 am my time and told me he would call. he hasnt yet and it is now 9 am here and 10 pm there. should i b worried that he isnt going to call? please help

i have seen so much rasism in the army, i have talked with white NCOs who call black people the N word when behind closed doors and i have seen black NCOs calling white people white trash behind closed doors, the whole UCMJ system is useless towards this problem and just wanted to know how the situation is being rectified other than someone saying we have no tollerance for rasism in the service?

is the military really welfare with pride? i mean alot of people have between 2 and 6 kids that are in the military and we all know alot of these parents have very little education and they could not get a job paying more than 7 dollars an hour in the civilian sector, which means they would have to be on welfare or some kind of other government assistance, so its really no different except now they can have some pride by saying they are in the service. or am i really off base here?
