I think that after they saw what happen with Mcveigh they are rethinking their approach to things. It not McVeigh's death but the fact that everyone detested that sort of approach where a bunch of innocents, including children in a day care centre perished. That killed any sympathy or popular support to their cause.

If on the other hand these terrorist groups would do something else like creating some sort of computer virus that would eat up all the IRS records of each citizen or some similar tasks those sorts of people with gripes against their government would perhaps become more folk heroes to some.

Common sense would dictate that some may well have joined the military. You get your weapons training, intelligence and all sorts of great educational opportunities with pay. Also like they say, know thine enemy.

Oh the simple naivete of some questioners. Terrorists don't have to be constantly active, in their chosen field, and can pop up at any time.
