I heard they are. I don't hear people like Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, Spike Lee, etc supporting black troops. I've heard many black community leaders call General Colin Powell an Oreo and an Uncle Tom.

I don't think so. Blacks are slightly over-represented in the military compared to the general population, and blacks have a long and proud military tradition in the service of this country.

Keep in mind that folks like Sharpton and Jackson don't speak for all black people. They only proclaim themselves as "leaders" of the black community to get five-star hotels and limos, but I suspect most blacks resent the Sharptons in their midst.

Al Sharpton supports whatever fork is feeding his face........ Jessie Jackson supports whomever pays him the most, Spike Lee supports whatever makes him the most money........... none of which have ever been called U"ncle Tom's.. but many of us do have other pet names for them.

You won't hear Jesse or Al support much of anything. I think all Americans should be proud of all of our troops no matter what color or nationality. The reason we can all go to the store, church, or mall today in safety is because of these brave men and women in uniform.

That would be silly of them to do so.

But many people cannot understand that service to anyone other than themselves is honorable. To many who would say those things, it is upsetting that men like Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice and others have succeeded through hard work.

All I can say is that far too often the black community picks on those that achieve and places the thugs on a pedestal

of course not silly! haven't you ever heard of the tuskegee airmen or the 54th brigade of the civil war? We're very proud of our army men(and women!) who gave their lives for a just cause but many of us don't believe that this war is a just cause my self included!

The answer is yes. But the name calling comes from people who like to wear their pants down to their knees and take drugs and lisen to Rap. It's the criminal element who say that. I served with blacks and they did an outstanding job.

This question comes up about once a week, and it is demeaning to the Black community and the Military.
