Grandpa is a WWII vet. We identified all his pins, including the WWI German Occupation ribbon this one was next to (guessing he had it instead of the WWII German Occupation ribbon b/c it was available a couple years before the WWII version, while he was still in the service) - except this one.

The order of colors are (left to right): thin[pink], very narrow [black, white, pink, white, blue], wide [pink, white, green, yellow, black, yellow, pink, white, blue, pink]

I've tried various websites looking for this particular pattern, but so far I cannot find it. This may be a foriegn ribbon?

A picture of the color layout may be found at: http://emmakay7.googlepages.com/wwiimedal

I've known in my entire life one decent military guy, my father-in-law. Other than that...my wife's ex-husband, countless friend's husbands/boyfriends, coworkers experiences...I have seen nothing but poor treatment. Cheating, abuse, financial irresponsibility, lying, hidden homosexuality, etc. The list goes on and on.

Why?

I know that some men/women cheat when they are deployed. I am just curious how much of it really goes on. I want honest answers from people who have been deployed before. I know that some people do not need to read the answers, so I would appreciate it if you have an answer that would upset a spouse back home, please email me instead of posting it. What is it really like for our deployed people? Even though they may cheat, does it really mean that there is something wrong with their relationship back home or is it just to pass the time and fill the loneliness?? Let me just add that I think that the spouses at home that cheat, are about as low as you can get. I can understand how it can happen overseas, but the people at home should be ashamed of themselves. These men/women need all the support they can get. God Bless Them.

There has been so many Sucide Bombings in Iraq why can't those US Soliders do anything about it?,those American Soliders are a joke and should all be sent Home.I feel sorry for all those Iraqi People that are Dropping Like Flies,I worry more about them than I do those American Troops who are just wasting their time by being in Iraq.

My fiance is considering the navy and I’m not sure if we should get married before basic. We have children and have heard it would be better before because of paperwork and benifits; however I am in college and would be staying here until I graduate which could be a year or so. If we were married and I choose to stay here would we still get benefits or would I have to be with him where he was stationed. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am thinking about joining the Air Force. I went to talk to a recruiter and I want to make sure he is being up front with me. He said that went you are in tech school you can trade duty stations with another person with the same job if they are in school with you. He also said that deployments are 4-6 months long. Does anyone know if these are true?

Should we abandon ship and let the Shiites, Sunnis, and Kurds battle it out?

Should we "stay the course" and stay for the next couple of hundred years perhaps?

Should we find a dictator even more ruthless than Hussein, put him in power and bring back the fear?

Going back in time, un-invading Iraq and bringing Hussein and his sons back from the grave is not an option?

During World War II, it was said by many that Gen. George Patton was the best strategist in the Allied forces, but that Gen. Erwin Rommel was the best tactition of all the generals throughout the war, even between the Allied and Axis forces.

Could someone clue me in as to the main difference between the two? For example, what do both descriptions entail?

I know many will debate on who was the best general during the war, and everyone is rightly entitled to their opinions. All I really need is a detailed description of the definitions.

The claim that the Iraq war has anything to do with terrorist attacks is wearing thin, as we see what happened in Iraq yesterday.(220 Iraqi people killed)

Saddam was a strong opponent of Muslim religious fanaticism, and a barrier to Osama. Now Saddam is history. The latest reason claimed to justify the Bush war is that we have an obligation to set up a democratic state in Iraq. How much longer will the American people buy this? Will Bush need to invent a new justification to keep his war going until he leaves office? The American troops are dying for nothing. How much longer will the American people put up with our men/women dying?

If so why are you still buying gasoline. Why do so many that believe this still drive the big SUV's. IF you believe the war is about oil then you should believe that driving a big suv kills more soldiers than driving a fiat or focus or maybe a bycycle.
I myself believe is has to do somewaht with oil and greed from oil companies but it does have a lot to do with oppresion as well. We as a nation cannot believe that just ignoring that kind of oppresion it will go away. We have a responsibility as much has been given to us. I am doing what I can to limit my energy usage are you? What are you doing? I see families of 4 with 4 autos in the driveway. I am not judging but should we not question what we are willing to give up for the safety of others.
Simply put we cut down on the use of petroleum, mostly gasoline and there will not be a need to fight over oil.
