Should we abandon ship and let the Shiites, Sunnis, and Kurds battle it out?

Should we "stay the course" and stay for the next couple of hundred years perhaps?

Should we find a dictator even more ruthless than Hussein, put him in power and bring back the fear?

Going back in time, un-invading Iraq and bringing Hussein and his sons back from the grave is not an option?

NO WAR HAS EVER BEEN WON ON A TIME TABLE, AND NEITHER WILL THIS ONE

No one likes war or deployment. No one enjoys working overtime we like the money but at what cost. This war has cost us all but would have been the cost of doing nothing. Pulling out would show the world 2 things 1 we start a project then due to the cost and our own impatience and that of our liberals we leave. so what some are saying it's OK to start something then 1/2 way into it stop and do something else. so the American way is to quit and leave them to some one else. 2 you can count on us to advise, give speeches but we really can't do anything cause we don't really mean what we say just pretend too. If I could enlist and perform some sort of task giving the soldiers over there a break I would now not tomorrow or when I get ready but Now. we will not give the terrorists a chance to gain strength. And we will continue to monitor there presence over here it's just hard to controll when you have to deal with all those cry baby liberals that think every one should be dealt like an American even if there not. even if there only reason for being here is to cause problems and acts of terrorism.

We need to sit back and rethink how we are going to fight this so called war.

First and form most, I would redeploy are troops to the borders. I would then set up what is needed to keep the troops safe, ie walls and such. Paths that force a car to zig zag threw a maze, thus keeping a truck from just running the mill. Next I would set up Junctions all over the country. I would put the Iraqi forces in charge of these with US troops in a supporting role to see that the job gets done. When you enter the country, you are issued a permit to travel down a said road with a photo id. If for some reason you are in or on another part of road, you would be detained. Next I would informed everybody entering Iraq that the boarders are shut down. Unless you havea valid reason for being in this country, turn around and go home or wait in line to talk to a US border agent.

I would then form a fast moving strike force with the gear needed to move from point to point. Might even form up a few of them to set up around the country. This in turn would allow for fast rapid strikes as needed to assist in any manner when facing large builds ups of the enemy.

If the Iraqi force is unable to hold a sector, US troops would move in and retrain and assist the Iraq force. This in turn would reset the playing field. The group of people attacking our troops would be force to come to us. This would also allow the people of Iraq to see is in a new light. Instead of what we are doing now.

I would go into more detail, but it would be pointless as G Bush only see one way as the best way. With out growth and option, you only have death and decay.

I think we should go back to fighting the way we did before we did for Saddam's capture. A lot of people on here complain that after that event, President Bush announced the halt of major military operations. What they don't realize is that major military operations stopped that day. Simply being here isn't an operation.

no withdraw because then:

a-) the +3500 guys dead there would have died for nothing,

b-) the job is not over, leaving a bigger mess behind which Will bite us in the behind again sooner or later, making us having to go BACK IN again later!

my answer:

flood the place with everything we have, all available soldiers weapons etc, to try to get to the "40 to 1" occupation ratio needed to get the occupation done right:

We should pull out all the innocent people who don't want to fight and have families back here at home and send the politician who think these innocent people should be fighting over there. If you're gonna talk the talk ....walk the walk!!!
GOD BLESS the innocent people who are risking their lives every day for us!!!!!

Send Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Perle and the rest of the PNAC mafia over there, bring all the troops home, and forget the whole thing ever happened.

We should leave and let history take its course.

While letting them slaughter each other sounds like a bad idea in the short run.

The killing will die down once we leave, we are only making it worse by being there.

i think we should let them battle it out. its their country not ours. if we where fighting canada or if the west and the east side of the US where battling we wouldn't want another country in the middle of our business. i mean we're not really doing anything there ne ways
