When W. is out of office. As long as he's in power, it just won't happen. But I think that whoever gets the nod (Thompson or Guiliani, hopefully) will want to "man up" to the world and admit the scene over there is hopeless, and we need to pull out ASAP. No need to lose anymore of our troops over there, for nothing really. It's not a defeat either. We tried, we attempted, but some things are just not for us to decide. Let them figure it out for themselves....

We are TOLD there are Al Queda in Iraq. We are TOLD there are Iranians helping stir up the war. But, with the track record of this Administration, it may not be wise to believe what we are told. People like Juan Cole, Professor of Middle Eastern studies at the University of Michigan, has many Arab sources. He states that there are few Al Queda terrorists in Iraq. He also claims that there are only a few Iranians there, and that most of the foreign fighters are from Saudi Arabia. This information is from his website.
America should pull out of Iraq because we are the problem there. The insurgents are fighting to get the invaders and occupiers out of their country. A civil war has broken out between differing religious factions there. Our soldiers are caught in the middle. They cannot solve the religious differences, nor can they leave Iraq until told to do so. The government set up by Bush for Iraq has no power and is not taken seriously.
Iraq, like most Middle Eastern countries, is run by clerics. If we left, those clerics would take over. They would settle their own difficulties, put in their own governments, and run their own oilfields.
But when will we get out of Iraq? When the American people show some unity and realize the uselessness of this war. Since this is happening right now, it is up to Congress to cut off the unlimited funding that Bush has ladled out to Halliburton and other companies for the past years and put an end to it. This is exactly what Congress did to end the Viet Nam War and it should be done right now. Not one more American soldier should lose his life in that holocaust.

I think we will have a gradual withdrawl of troops beginning next spring. First of all, it is a political hot potatoe for the Republican Party and the Bush administration. Second, it's evident the surge is not working, nor the secondary wave of surges. This weekend, over 220 Iraqis died in sectarian violence in Baghdad alone. Third, the Iraqi government is dragging its feet on achievement of certain benchmarks that the US Congress has set forth which means funding for this war will soon come to an end by the next fiscal year. Bush and his Generals have said that we will need a physical presence there for the next 50 years, much like we have in Korea. Don't bet on it. I see all troops out before the election, but the conduct of the war will be a major topic in the presidential election because of all the blunders made by this administration.

We will pull out maybe not all of them because they will leave a presence like a rapid response force in the Middle East or Iraq, for sure all will not leave.
As for when will they leave Iraq,I wish it could be now being a veteran myself but as long as that dim wit is in the White House, they will be there and even after he is gone and kicked back to Texas,we will still be there for a little while longer there is no doubt in my mind about that sad to say I hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

hopefully not until the mission is complete and Iraq can function as a country.
But then Iran will most likely invade. They've already got lots of people over there helping the insurgents. So they are in place.

To all the people that blamed Bush or the troops: Way to support your country. Glad to see America is giving up. You're no better than traitors. This would be over if you Pu$$y liberals would let us fight a war but no; so worried about civilian casualties. Why don't you guys let our military do their job which is to blow $hit up and kill people. Get'er done

Sometime in 2009. As long as Bush is in office, he will NOT pull the troops out of Iraq. Hopefully, the next President will do that for the troops.

There will always be a US presence in Iraq. Much drawn down...the Pentagon estimates eventually 20-30,000 to protect and man the bases we've built there now.
But technically the answer is, "Never."

According recent news major withdrawal will start next spring. Because they'll simply run out of troops to send to Iraq to keep up this troop level. It is the 'broken army' clock. It will run out around next spring.
See GOPs changing sides lately? They know withdrawal is coming next spring regardless of progress. Unless they want to call draft.
