why make marijuana illegal when it grows from the mother earth its not like crack you don't have to cook marijuana before you smoke it. marijuana is likely no more harmful than currently legal drugs such as tobacco and alcohol let me know what you think of this

ok so basically my husband just got out of jail about 4 months ago, he was in for not completing his community service, and was sentenced 20 days but was let out after 2 weeks. so he got a 3 year probation, and suspended license until january 2008. anyways he had asked the judge for, (i think its called a wokers permet) which allows him to drive to work and back only, but the judge denied his request. so we couldnt just wait around till january for him to start driving legally again and i dont drive, we have 2 kids and one the way so money is a definate need and we are both only 20 yrs old so everthing in our lives is hard right now.

well to finally get to the point, my husband got pulled over for no reason at all and was charged for driving with suspended license, no registration, no insurance, stolen sticker,(which was not really stolen he bought it off of someone), and 2 misdumeaners. he has till january to appear in court, how long do u think they will sentence him, in CA?

the charge was bargined down from a felony to a gross misdomener. The officer said in general he was so bad on probation that they threw him out. He is scott free and is still even able to carrry firearms. Has any one heard of being dishonorably discharged from probation. I thought you generaly went to jail if you were a bad boy on probation. I know this is hard to fathom but this person is like the teflon don. The po did not call me I called him to keep up on the status of this person because he was a possible threat and I needed to know his status. I have the court document and it saye he was dishonorably discharged from pobation. The po said if he gets in trouble again probation will not be an option. the probation violations were drug related. This person was removed from his dwelling by a swat team on the original charges. I beleive you are correct go to jail and dont pass go but not in this case it is baffeling. he has been arrested again since then again for burgulary.(chg.dropp

*If* you have no gun experience.

2007-11-29 12:21:30 · 2 answers · asked by xxCrushedLoveHeartxx 2

I had a gun stolen. The cop came to my house to take the report. After taking the report, the officer, told me that decent people didn't own guns and I should just turn my other guns into the police station. I said "You didn't grow up with guns, did you?" He said, "No, I own one gun for my work, and I regret having to carry it." He then repeated his statement that good people don't own guns and that I would be better off turning mine in.

Also, in Los Angeles, when you buy a gun now (there is only one gun shop in Los Angeles where you can buy a gun in LA) you have to sign a paper written by the City Council saying that you understand that guns are not useful for home defense, and that you are more likely to be killed by your gun than use it to defend you life.

Any other place where stuff like this is going on?

I got a speeding ticket (64 mph in a 55 mph zone) in North Carolina. I did not sign the acknowledgment section before the police officer left. Now I am better bombarded with numerous letters from area attorneys wanting to represent me. Is it worth having their representation? How can I beat this ticket?

Today my mom actually got her first ticket for not stopping at a red light to make a right turn, but we DID stop for a short time, and the police accused us of not stopping COMPLETELY!!!! what does he mean by that, we stopped and looked that there was no cars around and then turned, but he stopped us and gave away a ticket. We are either going to traffic school and paying for the ticket, or we are going to plead not guilty and go to court. But we never been to court before, do you need a lawyer or can you defend yourself on that case, and are we going to win this case or is there no hope and we should just pay the ticket. The police was being really unfair and wrote us: violation of traffic control device, and wrote: right on red ( no stop), when we actually did stop. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is in Michigan. I was pulled over and the officer said that I was driving on a suspended license. My car was impounded license confiscated yadda yadda yadda. I called the secretary of state to see what my license was suspended for they said that it was for failure to pay a driver responsibility fee by may 16th 2007. I mailed out my payment to them on May 11, 2007. They processed it on may 18th but did not notify me that my license was suspended. I spoke with a reference person from the seceretary of state who stated that since I paid my fees that my license was no longer suspended and I would need to pay a 125 dollar reinstatement fee. I payed the fee and got my license back and my car out of impound. I want to find out the validity of what the seceretary of state's representative said to me because if what she said is true then I was not driving on a suspended license and therefore should not have to pay fines or whatnot. Any help with this matter would be GREATLY appreciated.

If a group of ppl saw cops beating someone up like with Rodney King, and they in turn beat up the cops for commiting police brutality, would they serve jail time for it?

Tasers are much more humaine than any of the previous generation submission tools the police have. I am sick of hearing people talk about weather or not the police should or should not have done this or that with the damn tasers

I am in the US Marines (security forces), and we don't have tasers, when a civilian that fusses with us gets out of line, we pull our ASP and start breaking bones........I would be happy getting jolted with electricity knowing the alternative.

would there have been a public outcry if Rodney king was subdued with a taser and not the beating he took (although he deserved it)

On CNN there was a story where a young pregnant woman was tasered by police after she had asked for assistance in surrendering her young child in arms. When she tried to leave with the child, she was tasered in the neck by an officer. It doesn't matter what the reason was for the officer to use his taser it was just not called for - according to the video clip shown on CNN. What is the matter with police these days? They actually believe that a taser isn't harmful or fatal and that just isn't so. There have been at least three deaths that have been attributed to the wrongful use of the taser. What more has to happen before the citizen advocacy boards that grant power to the police departments say "No more tasering unless the cop's life is in danger"?

Okay, I got pulled over for not having a front plate on my car... well my temporary license were expired but I had insurance. Luckily my friend had license, but they gave me a court date, let me go and let her drive the vehicle home. Anyone know about how much in fines I would have to pay? I'm nervous about going to court tomorrow. I have purchased a new temporary packet and set up an appt. with my eye doctor before I go take my written test... so I'm thinking this should look good on me. Let me know anything helps!

Ok so I'm not stupid enough to do this but my friend kept bugging me about it. I told her no but she won't let it go. She keeps saying that nothing can happen to me, she would only get in trouble.. but I beg to differ. I was just wondering EXACTLY what could happen if she got caught with a copy of my ID. I live in the state of PA. Any actual proof from websites or anything would help. I couldn't find anything but I know it'd be a bad situation. Thank you! Just wanna prove her wrong!

I live in a very upscale area of a larger US city. We picked the neighborhood because it is quiet, child-friendly, and close to my work. We have lived in our house about a year. There is a family that lives a few doors down on the other side of the street. There is a fairly consistent parade of people who come by their house (mostly during the daytime hours), stop their car in the road, leave something (sometimes a package, sometimes an envelope) on the doorstep and take something (usually a package, sometimes an envelope) from the doorstep. Usually it is not the same people from what I have seen but different people. This family keeps veeeery much to themselves, so we have no idea what they even do for a living, etc. I was wondering if there is some way to give an anonymous tip to some authority - we looked at our local police department's website but they want our info. I do not want a tip coming back to us since we have small children, etc. What do you think?

I've seen the wanted picture for the Son of Sam and looked NOTHING like David Berkowitz. The wanted picture depicted a young male, thin, with wavy hair, and was said to have been Latino.

When Berkowitz was caught he was overweight, balding, and was Jewish. Where the hell did the "witnessess" come from who depicted the totally different person in the wanted picture?

I'm trying to find out someone's name. When I was in college, I took a political science class in which we were learning about public opinion of police. In my text book, I read a true story about a college professor who used to be very critical of police officers for being paranoid. Some of his students were officers, and said he did not know what it was like. He took that as a challenge: He applied, finished his academy training, and became an officer. It was educational for him and he learned to be a lot more empathetic to police.
That was the last I ever heard of this man. Has anyone heard of this and do you know his name or more info about him?
