OK I finally have to go to the courthouse (or I'll be arrested)... A friend of mine said she told them "I dont think I can be un-biased" and they STILL picked her for a trial, so now I'm scared. I thought about saying "I hate blacks etc." but a co-worker said they can use that if I ever look for a job.

So when they call me, what type of questions will they ask, and whats the best answers to give in order NOT to be picked?

You're cruising down the block(on duty of course), looking for law breakers, and then, you notice a scared looking child, wandering around the sidewalk, and the child is about 5 , no parents or adults near by, what would you do?And the kids doesn't know English too.

And lets say you decide to ask the kid where his parents are at, and what if the kid doesn't respond to you, and start to cry?
What would you do?

Like when a cop pulls over a driver, and lets say that the driver is an off-duty cop, will the cop, who is giving the ticket, know that the person is a cop, like from the database or something, or they don't know till the driver tells them?

so far ive only seen 4 types of police vehicles (and by police i mean peace officers, not all branches of law enforcement) in ohio at this point and i was wondering what motors they put in these/what options (supercharging/turbocharging/etc). so far ive seen new dodge chargers, chevy impalas, ford explorers, and ford crown victorias. now most of these vehicles (with the exception of the explorers) are designed to be able to take on most civilian vehicles if you get down to it-how is that?

I'm 16 and I got a traffic ticket, I was caught on the radar at 78mph according to him. I'm usually a perfect driver but the road was completely deserted and I decided to go 75-80 in a 55 zone. The officer gave me a ticket for 65 in a 55, but wrote this under the "remarks" area of the ticket:

"Remarks: 77-78-78 m/R"

in light pencil. My dad will be much more understanding if I just show him a ticket for 65/55 but he's a lawyer and I'm sure he will know what the remark means. I'm assuming it means he had me on radar at those speeds.

I was wondering if I can just erase what the officer wrote there, without getting into trouble when I bring it in to court? Or if I'm wrong in what that actually means then please correct me.

It´s for a translations I´m working on, therefore harder since the law has different names in different languages, but I need a full explanation of the meaning of "noncustodial setting".
The detective bumps into a guy who was charged and released on absence of evidence and later uses their chat to arrest him again. Whats the noncustodial setting here? The fact that they bumped into each other in a coffee shop? Or the fact that he didnt ask direct questions? Or yet that he was arrested on different charges? First charge was obstruction, second some misdemeanor? HELP! (The guy is not a criminal and the cops are only trying to arrest him to force him to say who is responsible for a murder)
Thanks

I am 14 and my friend 15 and we were rollerblading in a store.
Security came up to us and told us to leave.
As we were leaving another Security Officer came along and brought us to the office.
They called the police and we were handcuffed and taken to the police station.
Our parents called and released.
Was this legal.

Shouldn't the supposed officer of the law (I don't know, I didn't ask for ID because I was so upset)wait for an adult? My son had just gone to the car because he was tired. He got to my car aboaut 10min before me. He was just sitting there.

A Car being driven in a funeral procession that was hit by another car. The police officer who arrived spoke to a non biased witness who stated that there was a gap in-between the cars in the procession.
The driver of the car in the funeral processions was issued a ticket for reckless driving, and failer to yield to a traffic signal
The driver who cut through the funeral was not issued any tickets
The person in the funeral procession that was issued the tickets arrived at court on the scheduled court date to present defense case to fight the tickets with pictures, letters from her passenger about the accident & another letter from a witness in the procession
The police officer did not show up.
The driver who cut through the procession did not show up.
The Judge ordered a continuance & set another court date for 2 months later.
This legal matter is being handled in Chi Illi
my questions are:
does the person in the the procession need anything else?
is the other person liable?

I was watching Prison Nation a couple nights ago and they said sometimes they keep The Mentally Ill in Segragation(Cells where you are alone and you walk alone you dont see anybody but police officers for up to 3 years.) Almost 50% of Mentally Ill people are in Segragation otherwise known as "the hole." Do you think this is right? Tell me your opinion now!
These mentally ill people come out even crazier... Also, even average human beings come out crazy... Basically no human interaction for years... Can you imagine?

In Florida it is a capital offense to kill someone during an armed robbery or burglary. Will his killer get the death penalty or is this another case where the murder of a black man does not get the full justice as if it was a white man or a white woman.
