If you weren't fingerprinted and booked by a police officer, your record is still clean.

However, if they turn the form into the police, they may be able to enter your name in the system.

I've never heard of this before. I would have pressed charges on you, and you WOULD have had a record then.

I don't think it will go on your record. Kohl's will probably never let you in again but that's it. It also depends how old you are. If your 18 or older and it's on your record, it will stay there for a while. If your under 18 and it's on there, it will only last on there until your 18. Don't know how you got caught. That's sad.

Here's the strait scoop....The pictures they took will stay on-file with the security company for at least two years, your name will be kept for 5. If you steal from them again within this time they will try to prosecute for both. However in most states, the time limit for prosecution is 12 months. If they didn't call the police, it's not on your criminal record,,for sure.

why would you do something stupid like that?? You should be very gratefull they didnt call the cops. You should have been arrested.

As for the question you asked, not sure if it will affect your record since they didnt call the cops. ...Hey, why dont you apply for a job at Kohls...LOL

no doesn't sound like it would, but my question is why did you take something that didn't belong to you. Ok so you have got something in your room that you really cherish, how would you feel if someone came in and took it? this is why prices rise so much because of theft. I am not hating on you but i do hope that you have learned your lesson from this because you really got off lucky. You could have went to jail and trust me you don't wanna go there. I fyou feel like you have a problem with taking things like this please get help. these people gave you a huge break the next time you might not be so lucky

since the police weren't called, there will be no arrest record. what you signed was probably just a form, stating that you would not set foot on their property for an extended period of time. kind of like a no trespassing form. i wouldn't be too concerned about any record in retail, unless you applied at that particular store, in which case, obviously you would be S. O.L.

I think the only reason they didn't call the cops is that they didn't want the store's name in any police file so as not to tarnish their own name.
You got off easy.
Hope you've learned from this.
Enough trouble will come your way without asking for it, so I hope you won't go ahead again in another attempt to intentionally screw up your life.

If you're under 18, it won't stay on your record. I'm not sure if you're over 18 though, since there were no cops called. I know most stores take pictures of you and keep them in the back. That's probably what the pictures were for.

I would look into this it sounds quite shady, like maybe the store security is pocketing the money, they have no legal right to fine you like this and it is not legal for them to say we wont call the cops if you just pay us double

Well I doubt it, I think that was sort of like a slap on the wrist only with a fine. Any record would require police involvement.

So no.
