Law Enforcement & Police - November 2007

A friends house was searched several months ago and 2 felony charges resulted; possession of cntrlled substnc and possession precursor with intent to manufacture. Thats not what was going on...they found a few old baggie corners and an old container they said contained a precursor. His lawyer filed a motion for discovery, but they are unable to produce any lab reports or evidence. Will these charges be dropped or will case procede?

I am an international student from Africa and recently got in a bit of trouble.I got into a bar fight and was chradged with felony agravated assult.Six weeks later, I had an accident and fled the scene because I had no insurance. I just panicked and thought of my other pending case. I turned myself in to the police the next morning coz there were no officers to arrest me for the hit and run when i went to the station on the evening of the accident.I spent 3 days in jail for that.Im going to court for my hit and run on December 12.I was also charged with faliure to yield and no insurance. I got insurance now but the damage is done. I am a good person , I work hard.help me with advice . I have a layer for the first offence but can not afford one for the hit and run.will they bring up the other case in court.what should I expect (the worst).

To get more infomation on my previous funeral procession Question car accident question

The car was towards the middle of the procession the lead Hearse was had gone through the light. The other card flipped (SUV) upon impact which to me shows that it was attempting to speed through the intersection, other cars where waiting allowing for the procession to pass.

From my findings on the net its saying the funeral procession has the right of way if there as long as the lead vechical is obeying traffic signal

The officer did infact give my party the traffic tickets when we showed prof that we were in a funeral procession.

I think the fact that the other drivers car flipped & was seriousley hurt factored into this but I'm not sure.

the officer spoke to a nonbiased witness who stated there was a gap

does a gap in a funeral procession allow another car to cut through. I wouldnt think so but I'm why I'm asking

If you're driving drunk and you get into an accident with another vehicle and it is not your fault... what happens?
To that end,
What happens if you're drunk and the other driver's drunk as well?
(This, of course, assuming no one dies.)

I have been living in an apartment complex for 3 years now, and just recently new tenants across the hall have moved in. Within 2 months, I the hallway has been filled with the smell of marijuana, and I personally do not want my daughter exposed to that, or even the smell. I called the club house for advice and they said to notify the county Police. I would like to place a quick notice on the hallway door (not there door) as a warning. It would go something like:" NOTICE
The Police Department will be notified for any use, or suspecion of use (including smell), of illegal substances including marijunana. "

Should I go ahead and post it, and call if they smoke up again? I had this problem with my old apartment complex and did nothing and regret it to this day. Advice please.

I just nought it yesterday and went for a drive to test it out. Well I passed by about 6 cops at least 10 feet away and it never went off. What do the cops have ti do for it to go off? And I wouldnt say it doesnt work completely. I went by a automatic door at a store and it went krazy on K alert. Whats wrong with it? I tried in highway and city mode both.

I'm trying to purchase and take these desktop computer components to my home country for my home pc. It is cheaper to do this way and i get a little better configuration too.

The components are:

1) RAM -> Corsair 667Mhz 2GB (1x2GB) RAM

2) Video Card -> XFX GeForce 8400GS 256 MB Video Card

3) CPU -> Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Processor

4) Motherboard -> Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R Desktop Board

5) Hard Disk -> Seagate 7200RPM 320GB Internal Hard Drive

I feel these are general low-end components and shouldn't be a cause for problem. What's your take on it?

I'm planning to put them in the check-in baggage. Will it be Illegal to take them out of US? Will the security company get freaked-out on seeing this in the 'check-in' baggage?

If yes, then which components among these are not allowed?

(I don't want to risk being jailed for no reason).

revenge is sweet.

so how do you go about doing this? is it possible to tip off the cops and tell them the address where you think underage drinking is occurring? i've heard that you can call the cops on people having a party, and the cops can ask the residents to move their cars if they are lining the street, and then can arresst underage drinkers if they seek alcohol or drunk kids. is this true?

Yesterday she wanted to go out so I let her outside, rather than staying inside on a nice day.

When I came back home, my neighbor angrily came out and told me that the dog had been barking and howling for about an hour or so, (not the entire time), shook her head in a disdaining way towards me and ran back in the house and slammed he door.

Then after I unloaded a real kennel, not the makeshift one that I had her in, my neighbor comes out, looks at it, and my friend, shakes her head and goes back inside and slams the door.

Should I put her in the kennel instead of my dog? What are the dog laws. My neighbors all have dogs, and she consantly complains about them to me before I got one and she knew I was in the market for one.

Her husband has also told me if I do get a dog to keep it on a leash and it better not go over the property line because his wife has a shotgun and knows how to use it, actually said this on a couple occassions. What should I do? Thanks for all A's

if a uniformed police officer came up behind me and grabbed my shoulder without saying anything and i strike him and take him down as a reaction should I have got in trouble?
This happened after a came back from bootcamp 19 years ago and just woke up wondering.

Local online post of young woman in wheelchair looking for a place to live. Where she is, she is basically being held captive for her SS check. I wrote her I would come get her and give her (at least) a temp place so at least she is out of there. She has not replied. I am worried they found out what she is up to and they pulled her internet (as they have allegedly done in the past). I am starting to worry for her safety. Should I go to the police with my concerns about this stranger? If I do, what can the police do? Can they track her down through an anonymous online ad? Will this cause more trouble for her? Will I embarrass her? If this is a hoax or she is exaggerating, can I get into trouble for going to the police? I don't know what to do...this is eating me up....I am going to cross-post this question and see what kind of advice I can get...

I went on holiday, first time in years and was pulled over by police, I was booked for driving unlicensed, my license had expired by five days, gasp! I simply forgot!

I never recived a reminder notice, I live in NSW, Australia
I have been driving for 25 yrs and not even a parking ticket,

I asked for some leniency regarding the $400 fine, RTA said no! It was my responsibility to renew it.

should I go to court to try to get the fine lessened? Has anyone else had this experience?

I do not have the money for the fine, the police said I would just get cautioned but that was not the case. who can I contact to get the correct information please,? no solicitors, not willing to pay
