I'm trying to purchase and take these desktop computer components to my home country for my home pc. It is cheaper to do this way and i get a little better configuration too.

The components are:

1) RAM -> Corsair 667Mhz 2GB (1x2GB) RAM

2) Video Card -> XFX GeForce 8400GS 256 MB Video Card

3) CPU -> Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Processor

4) Motherboard -> Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R Desktop Board

5) Hard Disk -> Seagate 7200RPM 320GB Internal Hard Drive

I feel these are general low-end components and shouldn't be a cause for problem. What's your take on it?

I'm planning to put them in the check-in baggage. Will it be Illegal to take them out of US? Will the security company get freaked-out on seeing this in the 'check-in' baggage?

If yes, then which components among these are not allowed?

(I don't want to risk being jailed for no reason).

Items that are restricted for export are so marked by the manufacturer. I don't know if these items are restricted or not; however the manufactures should be able to provide that information.

As a general rule, items are restricted because of encryption technologies.

Your country may charge you a tariff for importing these items or may prohibit importing these items (I don't know where you are from)

As a telecomminications engineer, I often fly with computer parts, pcb's, test equipment, etc. Always claim them on your customs form when entering another country. Taking them out of the country is not illegal. If you're going to have a problem, it's not going to be in the U.S. Basically, everyone flying with a laptop has the same equipment as your list and they carry on.
