my brother-in-law involved in a car accident which he hit a utility pole and parked cars at a gas station in Va state. the police gave him a ticket for failure to control a vehicle and he has a court date coming in three weeks. Ok driving REALLY frustrates me and I never know what to do..whats RIGHT..or what everyone else is doing??
The speed limit is 60..but if I do that (on the 'slow' lane even) I get tail gated, people swerving out from behind me to cut back in front..ok I do 65..same thing..where does one 'call it' because I get sick N tired of morons half trying to kill me. If I play along and go with the flow..Im liable to get a speeding ticket..if I dont, I get extremely pissed off with the tail gaters and cutters-in-front and feel like Im causing mayhem.
How do cops view the speed limit and what advice to follow?
To be fair I have passed cops doin speed checks and I was 5-10 over the limit and they hav'nt stopped me..perhaps I was lucky.
I get the feeling people in the U.s. really cant drive as they take out their aggression for lack of happiness on the road, with their Beemers and 70k modded 4 bangers..

He can't get over the fact that moved on from him and am now with someone else, he has just sent private intimate pictures of me to him and his and my friends to get me back? Please what can I do????

I live in Ontario Canada. I know his ip, how do I report him for violating his internet terms of service (he uses Rogers Yahoo Internet). What civil and what criminal avenues do I have?

I just need him to stop and leave me alone so I can get on with my life. :'( I was in an abusive realtionship for years with him...and he won't let me forget about it. Unfortunately this email he forwarded to me and his friends is the only proof of harassment I have. He's really good at covering his tracks. :(

My spouse and I have been separated for over 3 years and are currently going through a divorce. Yesterday I found out he created a MySpace page with my pictures and information slandering me. I’ve contacted his command about this and his implications that he’s going to kill me but they’re not doing anything about it. I’ve spoken to JAG and they contacted his command but nothing has been done. My local PD says I don’t have enough for a restraining order. I don’t know what to do or who to talk to. My 15 yr old son went to a late skate night with church friends. It lasted until 1 am, at which time I was going to pick him up. He called about midnight to tell me another boy would bring him home. I agreed to it because the 18 yr old is a trusted friend. At 1:30 they had not yet arrived so I called his cell. Turns out they had taken two girls home...without my permission. When they got to the girls destination, her uncle came to the car and started cursing and threatening the boys, accusing them of "messing" with his niece at the roller rink. He was quite intoxicated. After scaring the boys half to death, he reached into the car and took the keys out of the ignition. That's when the man's sister (adoptive mom of the girl)came out and ordered him inside. He finally gave the keys back and the boys rode off. I told my son that none of this would have happened had he called me. He got the lecture but now I don't know what to do about the Uncle. You know what I'd like to do! Any advice?

I got 2 traffic tickets in canada last month, those cops knew it was a holiday so they stalked out everywhere. The thing is I live in MIchigan and it was my first time in Canada. I wasn't paying attention to the signs, plus I'm near sided. They dont go by miles there. E ways after I got one ticket the cop told me that they had an agreement with Michigan. What does that mean? After that I got another speeding ticket and I wasnt even speeding this time, I swear. The tickets are at diff courts, I intend to fight them, but I dont want to drive there twice. How can I work this out??

& go to house to further investigate call. While talking to tenant, they ask if they can search backporch deck, yard, shed, etc. for items "commonly blah, blah, blah".
After 8 officers searched the a bag of trash, shed, etc. for apprx. 45 minutes, & found nothing even close to what they were there for, asked if they could search INSIDE the home. Never once had they said the caller mentioned activity INSIDE, just outside.
They were denied so they used "strong chemical/odor coming from s. side of home" for probable cause to obtain warrant.
They did obtain warrant & found nothing @ all to do w/ their probable cause for warrant.
Would that be illegal search & seizure etc.?
Officers never informed tenant of "such a smell" or was it stated in warrant.
Renter was informed of this "smell" only through the local newspapers article 2 days after search.
NO CRITICISM PLEASE! SERIOUS ANSWERS OR ADVICE PLEASE!

What if the Victim or the girl in this case was the first one to start hitting the Abuser. And then the Abuser was the one that threw one punch unfortunately he left her a black eye. No arrests were made. But the cop said that the girl should have gone to jail because she threw the first punch. But instead he made her the victim. She requested no charges be made since it was an accident. She also told the officer she threw the first punch. There was an altercation that got the Abuser riled up. It involed 4 guys trying to fight him. She was not the person that called the cops. And the person that did call called the police department. Anyways she doesnt want charges filed. And again she was the one hitting him. Does this sound like a case the DA will pursue. Im not asking for me im asking for my bro. She was at work when it happend. And her co workers were trying to fight him. four against one she was holding him back and well he accused her of not having his back and she hit him a lot,

Can someone tell me what law/laws he broke? I keep hearing he "solicited sex" in the bathroom. So did he try to pay for sex? I didn't hear that in the taped confession. Yes, I think the situation is sleezy, but I'm not sure I understand what law he broke if he did not try to pay for sex or actually get caught getting-it-on in public? I've been out at clubs and bars and have seen ppl "solicit" consential sex from strangers often. How is Craig's situation different, except tacky??
Also is a foot-bump and a hand grazing really a solicitation?

George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window.

George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked 'Is someone in your house?' and he said 'no'.

Then the policeman said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be arriving when available.

George said, 'Okay,' hung up, counted to 30 seconds, and phoned the police again.

'Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I've just shot them all." Then, he hung up the phone.

Within five minutes three police cars, an Armed Response Unit, and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence and caught the burglars red-handed!!

I am a college Sophomore. I am currently majoring in Psychology. I was researching what I could do with my degree once I get it, and a career as a California Correctional Officer (Peace Officer) caught my attention.

----With a job as a Correctional or Youth Correctional Officer, I can earn $73,000 a year plus health and benefits, and it requires no college degree.

----With a job as a Youth Correctional Counselor, I can earn $81,000 a year plus health and benefits, and it requires a college degree.

What's your opinion about a career in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation? Is the pay worth the risk? Is there any risk?

Alright!So my male friend had a calious on his toe that was bigger than his toe.In fact it was so big that he had to cut a hole in his shoe to go anywhere.He went to the doctor and the doctor refused to help him and left his job.He went home,grabbed a large knife and chopped his toe off.Then he stuck it in the garbage can.His wife came in the room,screamed,and called the ambulance.When the ambulance came a paramedic pulled his toe out of the garbage can and said "do you want this"?My friend said "No,thats not my toe" even though there was a trail of blood leading from him to the garbage can.He just got released from the physco ward yesterday after spending five years there.Do you think he should have spent so much time there?

I was driving down a relatively country road today, but it is narrow and there are residences among small fields of mostly cotton crops. A sheriff deputy came up behind me with lights and siren activated, so I pulled over onto what little shoulder I had to get out of the way on. When he passed me, he was really moving fast.

I understood it to be a rule in this area that a police officer with lights and siren activated could only travel a maximum of 10 mph over the posted speed limit, which on this stretch is 40 mph. Judging from my experience with being out of the car on the freeway changing a tire with cars going past me at 75 - 80 mph, that's about how fast I judged this guy to be going.

Is there a maximum speed they can travel, and if so, is there a penalty if they get caught exceeding it? I mean, whatever he was headed to was not a big enough emergency to either get himself or me killed on the way, was it?

I want to be a cop in a large city and maybe later in a government agency. Should I go into the Marines and then go into college, or should I just go into college and get into my career a little earlier?

I really like the idea of going into the military, its good training and is a good way to grow as a person and serve your country. However I dont want to do it if its just going to be non beneficial to my career. And i do know it pays for some of my college tuition.
