my son was 16. He had his special permit. I was with him in passenger seat. He pulled into a "handicap" parking spot to let off his friend at a store. There was no other spots and no other way to turn around to get out of the lot. We were not even waiting for the boy. My son put the car in reverse, slammed on the breaks, since a local township police officer had just pulled behind us and blocked the path. He was nasty as could be, and said we were parked in a handicap spot, and was giving my son a ticket which he did. $100.00 at the time. I said nicely that I was the mom and that we weren't parked but only dropped off a boy and were pulling right out. He yelled and said you're getting a ticket too! I didn't. Court date, and the judge said guilty and fined us. I always felt this was not fair at all. The car was there for no more than 1 min. before my son started to back out. What is the opinion of others on this matter? Would you say the car was parked? What is the legal definition?

Its a situation I have seen countless times in my life and am sure others have as well.
A couple has an argument and the cops are called. The woman has no marks on her at all and the man has scratches on his face, arms and whatever.
The police ask the woman her version of the story and she cries he beat me.(still no marks on her and no blood)
They either dont ask the man at all or ask him then arrest him for domestic violence leaving her free???

Please dont say it never happens because I know it does because I have seen it several times.

my dog was on a leash, on a walk with my grandma. my dog just stepped out one step on the street (she was a few steps ahead.. only) and a driver ran her over. we took her to the clinic where she died.

also, the driver was speeding in the neighborhood. going 40 miles per hour WHEN the school bus was in the neighborhood.

are there are charges?

we had her under control, we checked the sides of the street before crossing, but that driver was going mad.. speeding, so our dog was hit. we had the dog under control on a leash.

i was there. my brother and i were just getting off the school bus and saw it happen along with my grandma.

are there charges against the driver?

My husband is still waiting on two paychecks from his old employer in NYC. We have heard there is a job board where you make this complaint... then if the company goes bankrupt, you may recover some of that money. Anyone?

my bf got his licensce suspended and was put on probabtion....he violated his probation and was pulled over the other day he got a ticket for driving on a suspended licencse...as he understands, this is a pretty big deal and could be put in jail...should he talk to an attorney before he calls his probation officer or should he call his probation officer first?
i would like to hear from people who have dealt with this or are in law enforcement. technically we think he's supposed to call his probation officer first, however i think before he speaks to anybody he should let his lawyer know whats going on...
help please

What is the point of the government banning so many things when few people take any notice,I happen to agree with not using mobiles at the wheel , but everyday i see drivers still using them. Having isufficient trained police is the problem so passing new laws is a waist of time if they cant be enforced, to much talk and no action.

handcufffs in front, person pinned with their chest to the ground, wrists locked and pulled to the rear, using the chain to cut off the airways?. This is a technique taught to state police and federal security to combat "suspects" in "controlled" custody who refuse to "submit", The story reeks of an overzealous officer holding the the pose too long, in order to teach her a lesson about who is boss.

A couple of hours ago I was bitten by a dog (German Shepard). I had to do something because we'd already ran the dog off twice for chasing the kids at this gathering. it came back and was chasing a little girl who was running and screaming and crying her mother was doing nothing so I ran out and grabbed the dog so that he wouldn't bite her or knock her down. He smelled my food in my opposite hand and tried to jump at me. I tried to lead it away from the children but when he failed to leave them alone and follow me out of our yard I grabbed him from behind the little girl again and thats when he latched onto my arm. I have 2 large and 2 medium sized puncture wounds as well as multiple scrapes. the two larger wounds have just stopped bleeding. The ownder's were not at home (or just wouldn't answer the door). The car in the yard had rims on it but no tag and there was no name on the mailbox. Should I take pictures, see a Dr., go back to their house? What?

I have been tazed before so I know how it feels. To me it felt like all my bones turned into hot rods and were spinning when I actually got hit with it but when it was over there was no pain. I actually laughed when it was done. lol So I don't get all excited when I hear about someone getting tazed like a lot of people. Yes it's a shame when someone does get killed by a taser however I'd much rather be tazed than be shot or get the crap beat out of me with a night stick.

I went to a pub last night with some friends. When it was closing time, the staff asked everyone to leave. As we made our way to the doors, the bouncers started pushing us out of the doors. There were alot of people in front of us and no-where for us to move too. When we asked bouncers to stop pushing, they didn’t and said we were pushing them (we wasn’t). They refused to give us there numbers or get management. Pushing there gate into me and one of my female friends.
Do i have legal rights to complain on how i was treated.
Do you think i should get the police involved?

So here's the story. I was driving down I-70 in colorado, and yes I was speeding (so I don't mind pleading guilty to that). But the cop that followed me did two things that bother me. First of all, he was following me dangerously too close. I was afraid that if I were to slow down, he'd ram the back of my car. Also, he followed my car, for a mile into a construction zone, then pulled me over, stating the citation in the construction zone, so now I have double fines.
I'm not upset about the speeding ticket. But I am upset about how he incorrectly notated the ticket that the citation occurred in a construction zone. I also am not too happy with the officer's behavior. I don't think it is good to give tickets to people for unsafe driving, when he himself is not driving safely.
Any suggestions? My court date is in a month.
