Same way parents tell there children not to lie, hit, or bite. Parents like cops, have done it before, just like parents have been kids. So.. This can be a good thing, because a cop that has committed crimes before they where a cop is more in touch with how a criminal, or druggie would act. They have a more realistic view of the situation.

Uh they cant....there are very strict limitations to what crimes you could have committed before being employed as a police officer. There is an extensive screening process and it all comes out in the history and polygraph exams.

Federal standards mandate certain crimes preclude you from employment in law enforcement, such as violent crimes-sex crimes-and controlled substances.

when you apply they just want you to be honest, not perfect. Some people used marijuana in high school, should that be held against you in your choice as an adult to be a cop...NO. They want to know how honest you are and your character. We are all human and make bad decisions....

If they've taken responsibility, paid the fine and done the time, and have been deemed qualified to carry a badge, they're qualified to enforce the law. Their past has no bearing on arresting someone for committing a crime in the present.

They have a job to do and they must do it. Their past is irrelevant, it doesn't change the law the suspects are breaking. They may feel or even look like a hippocrite, but that's exactly why some people become cops, as penance for previous misdeeds. Nobody's perfect.

Why do you ASSume police officers have committed these crimes? If so, they would NOT be officers I assure you. Quit hating on the very people that are out there protecting YOU.

Convicted felons usually can't become police officers. They also train and take an oath of office to follow the laws of their juristiction. If they are bad cops, they deserve to be in prison. And you never did anything wrong in your life?

Same as they arrest anyone else. They are cops ....it's not their job to judge. ... That's for the judges to do. Cops just arrest them and let the judges pass judgment.

They --- handcuff them --- read them their rights -- transport and book them !! Very simple process actually !!

And, if YOU had allegations of crimes committed by ANY police officer -- you, as well as ANY citizen, can bring these matters TO the appropriate authorities !!

Easy. They act like they never commited any crimes in there past and then they judge everyone else, then they lie then they arrest the person.

Simple as that.
