In Maine it's free, that's how I learned that someone I knew was on the list. Sounds messed up but I just wanted to see if I knew anyone on the list, I found one. I don't remember the name of the site, however it would be a little different for you in Jersey. Either Google it or just go to www.sexoffender.com or something of that nature, shouldn't be hard to find.

it's an amazing site.. sign up for the updates and they will tell you when a sex offender moves in or out of your neighborhood.. it gives you a picture and distance from your address! Good luck

in just about every state in the us a sex offender has to register with the pd, it is public records for a sex offender..that law is to protect children..makes sense.
