Depends on the size of the city, the agency the rank of the officer or firefighter.

I can tell you in the large agency that I work for, a police officer starts at 40 k a years and can max out in pay grade, with out promotions, in 10 years at 65 k a year.

Firefighters: $8-$15 dollars per hour
Police: $12.00 an hour up to $42,000 a year

It can be more or it can be less, it all depends on where you work etc.

in Arizona pay scale is .......

Firefighter - 39,000 up to 48,000
Police Officer - 45,000 to 52,000

this is the base pay as a firefighter or officer.. pay is more when advance in ranks.

not all fire fighters are paid. some only volunteer their services. some only get a small amount per shift they work.
police... depends on where you work and your rank. there is no firm answer for either.

It would change with each city or county you work in.

But it is not much any were. Most of them have two jobs just to get by.
