Friends, I made friendship with a girl in Delhi. Her name is Sajita. Her yahoo answers id is "Saj". For some time she was nice to me. We shared many things. One day suddenly she started abusing me by email. She used very bad words for me. I wish to lodge police complaint and file a legal case against Sajita for using abusive language for me on email. I have all her emails. Please let me know your views.

You seem to be an Indian living in India but not visited either the any Police Station or any Court in India. Nice, if you have not, then forget doing so for this purpose. Firstly the facts you have mentioned in your question are not adequate for file any criminal complaint against this person Sanjita under any provisions of either the Indian Penal Code or the Information & Technology Act that will be cognizable offence for which the Police in India is empowered under the Criminal Procedure Code to register an F.I.R. Yes, only if the email sent to you by this person has material which is obscene, lascivious or appeals to the prurient interest & tend to deprave and corrupt your mind then a offence under section 67 of the I.T. Act as well under section 292 of I.P.C. can be said to be have done for which the court shall go into the whole on the material on record & all relevant circumstances leading to this offence. If the material sent to you is not covered under these provisions & its only abusive in nature then the only it will amount to defamation which is an punishable offence under section 500 IPC, but that is not an cognizable offence & the Police will not fill F.I.R for that offence & you will have to file a complaint against her in the court of the relevant magistrate who can take cognizance of such complaint. In what ever way you want to do so, in case you file a complaint against her, you will be required to attend the proceedings in the court on all dates or as & when you may be asked to do so. Now tell do you have so much time to spend in courts during the proceedings in all these complaints & do you have enough money to waste on engaging advocate for all this purpose? If yes then go ahead who is stopping you it’s your money & time which will be spent how it concerns any other yahoo member here. If your answer is no then forget this person & stop sending any email to her or him who ever she or he may be & report any email from her or him as Spam.

Are you a guy? I was curious coz your ID is named after an Indian part time actress. Any how it doesn't matter you really need to grow up.
In my experience girls don't abuse if you don't act like a d i ck so what say you? Actually she can take legal action against you because in a way you are slandering her and also publishing her personal details, id etc. in a public forum which, believe it or not, is a punishable offence.
Even if you choose to exercise this unfortunate and childish option for a non existent problem then what address are you going to give to the cops? Even with all the facts the cops would most likely take the bribe and laugh it off in private.
Move on and let her have some breathing space, if you do that may be she would realise her mistakes and apologise, if you are lucky may be even give the relationship, if you had any chance.

Don't think there's much for legal action to begin with. The comment was stupid even forcing the company to carry out further tests on the technology. Vaughan's tweet had virtually no impact and ignored anyway, and he is saying it was a joke. One should be careful about such things. Legal action highly unlikely there's not much to begin with anyway. It would have negative impact on BCCI and Laxman himself. Just forcefully condemn and move on. No need to cause any fuss. No one took Vaughan's comment seriously anyway.

Come on now. You have to have better things to do with you life than this. I don't even know if you have a leg to stand on legally. I know in your country what she did was wrong but here in America she is a free woman to do as she wants. One day she can like you the next day she may not. It hurts but that is how it is. And as for bad language, it is quite common here in the US. She sounds like she has adapted very well to American society. The best thing for you to do is forget her. She does not like you. It is probably a big embarrassment for you but here in America men go through that each and every day. I feel for you and am sorry she hurt you but it is time for you to move on. Block her from sending you EMs and delete her from your contact list. If you go to the Police you will probably be more embarrassed than you were by the "abusive" EMs she sent you. They have much more important things to do such as solving murders and fighting crime. Please, just forget her. Move on. Don't try to find your dream girl or one love on the Internet as too many people are frauds who only hide behind their computer screens. Granted there are a few who are honest and caring but be very careful and very cautious.

report her to the police ????? under what section of IPC.
u have written a few things about the girl. what about u. what made her abuse u. No one will abuse u unless u have done something wrong.When u go to police , the first question will be how u provoked her. are u ready with that answer. If u say u have done nothing wrong, i dont think any one will beleive u.
Go ahead, lodge a complaint with the nearest police station and then see the fun. u will be in for a great time at the hands of police.

The only reason why you thnking of doing anything or asking us our view is because you like her even after what has she done and would anyday forgive her if she starts abusing you a little politly.
Otherwise you would have done the obvious things as suggested by ppl here and not made a issue

I don't know what country you are from. Fortunately, I live in a country where it is not illegal to use 'bad words'. If this is your basis for legal action, I would submit to you that the world is NOT a nice place. It is full of atrocities that are much worse than hurt feelings. Better you should spend that energy combatting a real problem, such as crime, drug addiction, rape, murder, opression, starvation, etc...
Toughen up.
