Here is the story. I was driving with a friend who had been busted a few months earlier for drug possesion. Before that and especially after, the officer stopped my friend every time he saw him, no matter what. Only found anything that one time. So, he sees us and asks what we are doing. We tell him and he lets us on our way. 1 block later, he pulls us over, doesn't tell me why, searches us and the car (w/o asking) and puts us in the backof his car. he finds nothing. I have no record and have never been arrested. For some reason he kept saying I had been mulitple times, but it is not true. However, my friend was on probation. is that probable cause to search MY car and ME? Also, the same officer has pulled me over several times since then. If he sees my car, he stops me and searches me. The last time he asked. He has never found anything illegal and says he pulled me over for something like signaling late before a turn. Is this cop doing this stuff legally by the book?

If you think of all the horrible mass shootings, Virginia Tech, DC Sniper and others there seems to be a common thread where the perpetrators of these crimes shouldn't have had the guns in the first place? Is there a system that we can make efficiently so gun shop and sporting goods store owners can quickly reference that the purchaser of the gun is allowed to buy this gun. I am all for the second amendment, but I do realize that there are certain people in society that shouldn't have guns that is affecting law abiding citizens right to bear arms?

on the FBI Employment site, they say, "To qualify under the Diversified Program, you must have a BS or BA degree in any discipline, plus three years of full-time work experience, or an advanced degree accompanied by two years of full-time work experience." what does this mean? i don't understand it exactly, i think it may mean that you don't have to specialize in something that deals with law or law enforcement, but i'm not sure. what does it mean, and what kind of oppurtunities would someone who qualifies under "diversified" be?

I had an experience with a local new police officer in my town. My husband was caught driving on revoke lieance about 5 houses down from where we live. My husband, which was in the wrong told the police officer that he was going to drive 5 houses down and pull my truck in the drive way because i needed it to go to the hospital to be with my daddy but the officier told him no but my husband shut the door and drove about 15 miles per hour and pulled in the drive way and just sit there for the officier to arrest him. I was standing out in the yard and instead of the officier going over to the truck to my husband, he jumps out of his car and starts running at me with his gun pointin on my chest, because they have the red dot that shows them where they going to shoot, and screemin at me like i was the one violating the law, and here i am standing in shock afraid hes going to fall over a toy and shoot me or one of my kids was going to wake up and run out the door and get shot ..

My fiance has smoked weed for a long time now, and at times hes mentioned quitting but he jus keeps smoking everyday. h is originally from Bosnia and went through Bosnian/Serbian War back in '93 with his parents and 3 other brothers. Being with him for so long, Ive come to understand that his family is always real high-drama [more than the average american family anyway]. Im not too sure if they all suffer from P.T.S.S or what, but I understand his excuse for smoking. However, I feel I would be of more help if I could give him some thorough reasons why it's only doing bad things to him, other than polluting his lungs, or losing memory...Can anyone out there help me, in explanation to what else its doing/can do to him over time? I want explain things to him that hes probably never heard about Marijuana...PLZ help quick!

If you didnt know already he was sentenced to 10 months today for 15 counts of downloading child pornography watching videos of children being tortued and abused, who agrees that the sentence is far to short. People who download this stuff should be punished as if they had done the act themselves.

My boyfriend of one year has decided that he wants to be a state trooper (we live in Alaska). He will basically be able to stay at home for a year, until training starts. Then for more than a year he will be in training in a different city. After that they will probably be relocating him to a village that will probably be too hard to get to to visit him. At this point, we are in a very serious relationship and are pretty sure we will be getting married after he spends a couple years in the village (because then he can move back to the city).

My question is, have any of you dealt with something similar? Or how would you deal with this? Also, does anyone know how dangerous this job is? I am kind of worried about him! Any reassurance from police officers or troopers would be nice too!

I was driving on a three lane road in Dallas and I was in the front of the "pack". At first I thought there was just a man walking across the road, but then I realized he wasn't moving, and I had to slam on my brakes not to hit him ( as well as the truck behind me that swirved over not to hit us both). When I pulled off onto a close residential street and asked him what t he problem was and why he would walk across three lanes to stop me, he answered with, "I'll tell you when I find out who Im talking to." He ticketed me with 53 in a 35. But when I noticed that he had his motorcycle parked right next to the road, I was furious. Why didn't he pursue me on his bike WITH LIGHTS!? Im taking it to court and many say im wasting my time. But being a 20 year old female in Dallas, I will not EVER stop for that again because it could have been anyone in a police costume. The rates of impersonation, kidnapping, and danger in Dallas are just too high for this to be legal. so now what?

The White Speeding Signs with the Speed numbers listed on the highways and roads, and interstates, are showing us the MAXIMUM Speed allowed by the law, not the Officers. They Officers uphold the laws, just like the Military does not tell their comanders they dont want to fight, they do it, they took the oath to uphold the constitution. We have the choice as Drivers as to weather we want to break the laws we learned and that are posted. If we go through a red light or stop sign, then we broke the law, if we speed any numbers over what is posted, then we broke the law, If we dont have our seat belts on, then we broke the laws, If we dont turn on our turn signals or cross over a solid white line to change lanes, then we are breaking the laws A solid White line is to be treated as a Solid Wall or barier and not using your signals will leave you possibly at fault in incodents as you are not letting anyone else know your intentions of changing lanes or turning off. So Quit complaining

A few nights ago, about 2 in the morning, someone was beating on our door. My husband opened it a crack (though I've told him not to open the door at all without asking who it is first). He asked what the person wanted. It was a female who wasn't making much sense. He thought she said, "Can I buy a tv?" Then she began asking for "Steve." He told her she had the wrong apartment and I clearly heard her say, "No, I don't." He tried to shut the door on her and she actually tried to push her way into the house. She did manage to get her head in twice. He told her, "Don't come in my house!" and then finally shoved her forcibly out the door and shut & locked it. About 15 minutes later, there was a loud pounding on the door. I told him, "Do not open it. Call the police." I figured she was angry and got a guy to come back w/her and cause trouble. Which, my neighbor who looked out the peephole said that is what she did do. Should I press charges on these people? The cops know who they are.

Recently I went to NYC and wanted to take pictures of some friends in front of some skyscrapers. The first time I tried to take a picture a security gurard came out and told me to leave or he will call the police, we were on the sidewalk. Then I tried to take a picture of a statue on Wall Street. A cop ran over and shouted "what the f### are you doing!!" When I told him I wanted a picture of the statue and he told me if I take a picture he will arrest me becuase I didn't have a permit and since there was five us he would have us arrested for illeagal assembly. Although most people in NYC were nice I was really turned off on ever going back to NYC. What's the deal with photogrpahy restrictions in NYC?

Scenario: A teen is given a neighbor's key to feed the cat while they are away. One night he invites over several friends for a little "party" the people who owned the home find out and file a police report. All kids are questioned about the party. Can all be charged with burglary/unlawful entry.? Or is it solely the boy "who had the key" his responsibility? It is not as if anyone broke in/kicked down the door or forced their way in. Any insight?

I just found out my neighbor (not a friend) is on the registered sex offender list for the crime listed above. Does this mean he was convicted of some really bad act with a child, or could it have been a relationship he had with a sixteen year old when he was 19?

I don't want to assume he's a monster if it's possible he was just stupid. Any legal information would be helpful. Thank you! (Don't worry, he's not getting near MY kids either way!)
