I saw it again yesterday. During high traffic on a 4 lane road (2 lanes each direction) with a 55 MPH speed limit, a stupid cop parks his vehicle 5 feet into a driving lane. This causes everyone to have to quickly merge into one driving lane, and creates a hazard. It is NOT a safety increaser for cops to stop in actual traffic lanes! In this situation, there was a breakdown lane as wide as the travel lanes, but the cop just had to put his vehicle in a travel lane, creating a dangerous situation. Every cop I see in this state does this: no matter how wide the roads and breakdown lanes, not matter how much traffic, no matter the weather or lighting conditions, these idiots park in the lane of travel. That being said, I love when their cars get slammed into from behind, and it's even better if the cop gets smashed up too. They are creating a deadly situation by using stupid policies that put innocent people at risk.

I'm not a student but I visit my girlfriend who is and I've racked up a couple parking tickets on campus. If I was a student I understand that they could enact sometime of enforcable punishment on me, but since I'm not what can they do? Do they report these citations to actual police officers who can gain access to these unpaid citations if i were to get pulled over?

I got my first speeding ticket today. But when the officer gave me the ticket, I noticed he whited out the date, and wrote over it. The new date was right but he didn't change the day of the week from Wednesday to Thursday. I got the ticket in Brown Co. Wisconsin, if that matters.

Last Saturday, three police officers were killed by a gunman while responding to a domestic violence call. Odessa is a small town in western Texas. If you can, please send your love and support to the families devastated by this tragedy.

You may contact the Odessa, Texas Police department. Thanks.

If a girl is kidnapped (either by a pedophile or by human traffickers or just some sicko)

How do you go about finding her?

I know the police will look....but I mean if a single, average person wanted to find them. How?

In the movies they go to bars, show pictures, offer money, beat people up, etc...

Does this really work?

I listen to a speech the other day from a former DEA head and he described the war on drugs like this: You have 10 officers standing at the bottom of the Nigera Falls with dixie-cups, they keeping filling their cups and say ZERO tolerance for water while pouring them in a bucket....they just aren't making much of a dent.

Probition failed because the people wanted to drink...they said if they made alchol legal...millions would become alcoholics, yes but the vast majority of people don't drink...people like me!

If drugs were legal....you know allow freedom...allow people to put in their bodies whatever they wanted...the VAST majority still won't become drug addicts...people like me!

If drugs were legal...millions could be freed out of prision saving billions of dollars.

Dealers wouldn't make money...because you could buy legal drugs and tax them

We could lay off 1000's of police officers...$$$$ think!

Why continue the insanity?

I am sitting in my car. This guy drives up and lectures me about sitting in the fire lane without identifying himself. I am thinking, what a jerk, doesn't he have better things to do. He drives off, and I see some sort of fireman tag on his car.

What is your opinion of the police? Are they a good deterrent for criminals or do they just make matters worse. Be honest. Thank you very much for your time.

If the US government allows a person to be at .0799 and drive. Do you think DWI/DUI laws are to make money for the government. The law should be .00 not .08 if the Government wants us to be safe. Its all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I was backing out of a parking spot and slightly bumped another car on the way out. I got a ticket for "improper backing" which is a city ordinance. The actual ordinace says

"The driver of a vehicle shall not back the same unless such movement can be made with
safety and without interfering with other traffic."

Since there it was in a private parking lot and traffic is defined as vehicles on a roadway, could i fight this?

Okay so my friend called me up about a speeding ticket. He admits that he was speeding but the officer also said he failed to yield when told to. But the thing was there was construction going on where he could've stopped so he couldn't have stopped there. He then drove on letting the officer follow him and stopped at the safest spot away from construction, but he was charged with a misdemeanor for not yielding. The officer didn't believe that he had trouble stopping and charged him for that. What can he do? He'll pay the fine and go to traffic school if he has to, but it's the misdemeanor charge that worries him. This is apparently his first ticket too.
