That all depends upon the cop. There are some cops, like where I live, that do not want to even leave the police department unless they HAVE to in foul weather. More and more cops tend to use rain jackets & they even have rain suits (pants, coat & hat) designed for people like police officers, security officers, EMS, and fire/rescue personnel. Do to this fact there are cops out there that will pull your butt over even pouring down. If a cop wanted to be an asshole, you could even be cited if doing the speed limit in the rain, for speeding to fast for conditions, since the posted speed limit only applies in ideal good weather & you are supposed to slow down in not ideal conditions (snow, rain, fog, really dark night & hard to see, etc). As the Chief of a rescue team that handles many many car accidents, my best advice would be to slow down in the rain, by about 5Mph under the speed limit, 10Mph if its raining extremely heavy. Sometimes more yet. This advice will not only keep you from a speeding ticket but reduce your risk of an accident and can greatly reduce risk of injury or death in the event of an accident.

I think it is fairly uniform that all police officers make fewer stops in bad weather. Whether it is raining, or extremely cold...ect. It's just human nature for them not to want to stand in the rain. If the offense is bad enough you're still going to get their attention, but they will tend to ignore the more minor offenses. I think you're guaranteed not to get a ticket if you're speeding in a hurricane.

The cops I know have no problem standing in the rain. You can be written a speeding ticket if you are going "too fast for conditions" which means if it is really rainy you can get a speeding ticket even if you are going the speed limit if the officer deems you were going too fast for conditions.

i like the rain, in spite of the fact that that's going to be "particular." whilst this is summer time and the sunlight hours has been out for days on end, i like whilst it rains for a minimum of an afternoon or 2. It breaks up the blazing heat temperature. lower back, to me, there is now not some ingredient that tops making love with the sound of the summer time rain beating off the leaves on the trees.

Yup, but the flip side is if you are going way too fast then it could be reckless operation, which is a ticket I would get out in the rain for.

I probably make FEWER stops in the rain...

But if I have to get out of the car and get wet because you were driving badly enough to get my attention in the rain...

You are almost certainly getting a ticket.

I've never seen one standing in the rain, except when the donut shop is packed.
