Ok.... where do I begin? We were throwing a birthday party for myself and my mother's boyfriend at her house. I guess one of the neighbors put in a complaint that the the noise was too loud and they came by to tell us to turn it down around 10 o'clock. They came back around 12 AM while a few of us were in the living room. ... I didn't realize how loud the music was at that particular time because hey... I'm celebrating my birthday and having a good time. I look up and 2 police officers are walking through the front door of my mother's house. I had been drinking, but I was coherent enough to notice that something isn't right about that picture. I approach the first police officer Asking if he had a warrant to enter my mother's house twice.. No answer, asked if had the right to enter my mother's house. He says he doesn't have to answer that, but I'm being arrested for Obstruction of Justice. How can I be arrested for that when I only asked 3 questions?

The UK has a total prohibition of private ownership of firearms yet the incidence of crime with guns is increasing rapidly.

Do you agree with this statement "When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns."?

I am a little annoyed right now. I waiting for my family's 4 passports. One arrived. Two are reported arrived. And one on it's way. I called the post office and the substitute postal carrier says he delivered all 3 but we did not receive it. We have locked boxes so it couldn't have been stolen out of it.

This is the second time (that I know of--kind of scary) that they have lost my mail. Last October my regular mail carrier was out for a month getting his appendix out. We went on vacation for a week and put our mail on vacation hold. When we returned our whole week's mail was missing. They never found it, either.

What can I do to prevent this from happening in the future? Is there someone I can complain to? When I call the post office they act like it's my fault. Also what action do I need to take regarding my lost passport and other important documents (birth certificate and marriage certificate? Are they responsible for the cost of replacing?

I was stopped for suspected DUI and was taken to have a blood test done. While at the hospital, the officer told me to sign something. I told him they could take my blood but I didnt feel comfortable signing anything. He told me I had 2 choices
1. Sign and they take my blood and I go to jail
OR
2. Dont sign and I can go home

At the time, option 2 sounded like the best choice. Once we got back to the station he said by not signing I had admitted guilt and would lose my license. I asked to go back and I would take the test but was told no, I had no further options...I had my chance.
I guess my question now is:
Is there anything I can do to get out of it?

I know I made a mistake but shouldn't they advise me of the laws? Ignorance of the law is no excuse but it was as if he was purposely pushing me to make the wrong choice.

I recently recieved my first speeding ticket. I was driving in an unfamiliar area and I did not know the speed limit. I came off of a highway with a speed limit of 55 onto another road. I was doing about 45 on the other road. It curved and around the curve I finally saw a speed limit sign which was 30, but in addition to the sign was an officer who, even though I slowed down when I saw the sign, pulled me over and gave me a ticket - is there anything I can do about this., do I have a chance in court, or do I have to pay the ticket?

Basically, whenever my father leaves his bike anywhere locally, this idiot (same person each time I believe) pins a little note saying the same thing every time, which is: "This bicycle is poo and wee".
Now my father is getting on in years and this is quite upsetting for him even though no actual damage has been done. On that basis is it worth getting the police involved? Would they even care?

Today my boyfriend got a ticket for parking in a handicap space because his placard had expired. He does legitimately need it as he had very serious back surgery last year and his back does still give him bad pain sometimes. Anyway this morning his back was really hurting and he made the misake of using his expired placard to park at school and got a ticket.

So now I got really scared because I looked on the DMV california website and it says that placard "abuse" is a misdemeanor and you can get a fine of $1000 and up to 6 months in county jail!

But looking on here it seems most people say a handicap ticket is only about $250 and no jail time.

I know its different since he does have a placard compared to someone not having one at all and parking in a space.

Does anyone know how this works? The fine I'm not worried about- we can figure out how to pay it. I'm just really scared about the jail thing. Anyone have experience with something like this?

Thank you.

My neighbor just did this for a guy and I'm curious if there's any way for the ATF to find out about the sale. The gun was obviously not in the felon's name. It was a 100 year old rifle and very collectable. Is this a potential ATF problem for my neighbor...or is everyone in the clear?
