I took my dad's 9mm beretta which is legally registered to him, WITHOUT any ammunition and with no intent of use, just to show my friend up the street what a gun was really like because he had never seen one before. I accidently left it there forgetting to take it home with me. The police later raided his house for a completely different reason, but found my gun in the process and charged him with having a gun not registered to him in his possession. They ran the serial number on the gun and my dad's name came up, but the police have yet to contact me and they have had the gun in their possession for over 3 weeks now. I am 17 years old. What can I be charged with? I've been thinking something along the lines of illegal transporting of a weapon or something like that but if anyone has any law knowledge please let me know what I'm looking at.

Someone I know who has recently been cited for DUI? This guy always wanted to be a policeman, trained, and was ready to exit to academy. He was always a guy that was responsible and obeyed all laws, until the night out with the guy to celebrate the night before leaving to academy. Or what if a person who is going to school in criminal law or somewhere inthat same field. What happens with all that training? Has it all been just a waste and have to start a new career.

As a corrections officer, every two years we have to get recertified and that means getting sprayed with Phase 3 OC Pepper Spray again, along with tear gas. The gas is not as bad as the OC obviously. Someone was telling me of different ways to get rid of the pain, like dawn dish soap, milk, and shaving cream. Someone else said there was a solution you can buy. Any ideas?

The police have a search warrant for items specifically about " John" no one else, but while searching the house they remove a DVD with the name "Frank" clearly written on the box of the DVD. Can that DVD be ruled inadmissable because the warrrant said to search fo anything about "john" not "Frank"?

Ok so my mom just got two tickets in the mail for a suppose "red light turn" violation, but this can't be! Why? Because yes i know it's illegal to turn on a red light, BUT, only when theres a sign there that says so am i right? But recently there has been a new law forbidding turning on a red light at all, but the thing is we didn't know about this until today when the cop told us!! do i have a right to argue in court or something that those $100 tickets should be cancelled since we where not aware about the new law and there WAS NO sign and we had always turned on a red light when theres no sign there saying you can't do it, we've done it infront of cops too and they've never said anything until today when we got our first ticket ever by the mail ,with photos and everything, but like i said, if there is no sign alerting us it's illegal, and we weren't aware about the new law, do we have a right to get those tickets canceled? we live in the chicago suburban area, thanks!

I have had my license taken away twice which is extremely aggrivating, considering I don't have a state ID... no bars, no clubs, and I can't even get some grub watching the Bears at a bar with my friends...

The officer asked if I had a bond card, and I just looked at him with a confused look on my face. He responded with "Never mind, you'd know if you did." I asked around and was told if you were a member of the AAA club, that's what he meant... anyone have this and have it happen to them? Need some advice if it's worth the cost of being a member.

I'm taking my ex to small claims. Everything online says "where they can be served".

She moved 50 miles, to a new county. But it is within driving distance of where she used to live, where the events occured and where I live.

Do I have to have the papers filed / served in the new county. Or can she be served in the county where I live and she used to live?

I was reading the following story:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070909/ap_on_fe_st/odd_salty_burger

To me, this seems a little overboard. The woman is charged and has to post $1,000 for bail. Then they send the burger patty into the crime lab for examination. Doesn't this seem like a waste of money for the crime lab examination. And doesn't it seem like the officer is picking on the worker? If the burger tasted that salty, wouldn't most people take it back to the counter for a new burger or refund?

I'm just wondering what others think, especially from other people who are judges, cops or lawyers.

Thanks!

I am 26 and in okay shape. I was in the military, and have some college under my belt. I have never been arrested, and and 2 tickets like 5 years back, I want to join the police force, but I have a bankruptcy that I filed when I was like 23, I was married young and my ex put me and left me in debt. My credit is on the rise and I make all of my payments on time and pay more than the limit. Can I apply! Or do I need waivers and if so how hard are they to get?

The girl says she accidently spilled salt on the burger and served it to a policeman, who came back later and said it made him sick....She was arrested and freed on $1000 bail...Would her arrest have happened if she had served it to a civilian customer? And how is this fair???
